Sarah, we're back. Renovations are underway and affected our stay somewhat. The pool was still closed for resurfacing. We we're told it would be another week before it opened so it that holds it should be open by the 11th. The bigger concern was the casino. Renovations were all over the place. Slots and tables we played Sunday night we're unplugged and moved Monday morning. Sections of the casino were emptied and filled with construction equipment. The good news is they seem to have a master plan and were working fast. If they keep up the pace we saw most will be done by the time you get there. I asked for a renovated room but clerk could not tell in her computer which rooms were renovated already. Our room had new paint but the carpert and furniture were the same. The room was OK, nothing wrong with it, but nothing special.
The buffet was open for breakfast each day. I read reports that breakfast was discontinued but not true while we were there. In April they have a 2 for 1 special at the buffet each Mon & Tues. That special is good for breakfast, lunch & dinner. There is a reward credit multiplier on Tuesdays. 3x for Gold and 5x for Diamond.
Be sure to check out the Margaritaville casino nearby. $10 FP for new player card sign ups. Cool atmosphere and lots of slot titles the Grand does not have.
One non-casino thing to check out is the Biloxi Tour Train. It's a 90+ minute tram ride through historical Biloxi. Really informative and entertaining. A nice way to spend a few hours outside. The Biloxi Visitors center on Beach Blvd has info and discount $1 off coupons. Price is $14 with the coupon. Tour pick-up is across the street in the beach parking lot.
