Harrahs Metropolis Trip Report

Last Thursday I decided it was too cold to do anything in Nashville, so tried booking Metropolis for Friday and Saturday night on a comp...no problem (must be pretty slow up there). They have been advertising their new casino and I thought I would check it out.
Hotel checkin was a piece of cake (although the VIP was not open) and got a nice room on the 7th floor...very comfy beds I must say.
The casino is now on land and they have managed to pack 800 slots in a relatively small area with table games. Being rather small it was crowded with all those machines and aisles were very narrow. Their "video poker room" was an alcove and they packed in quite a few machines with poor pay schedules. Somehow I managed to get $ KAces with my first hundred (my first W-2 of the new year), so was off to a great start. Actually hit 4 Aces again and one 4 of a kind. Got my 1,000 tier for the 1,000 bonus and called it quits for the night. Rounded up the wife and headed for the Diamond Lounge for something to eat. Nice lounge, but the food was just OK and you had to pay for your drinks (the bartender somehow made enough for 4 drinks, so actually got 2 fors.
The wife reported that the penny slots were very tight.
Everyone was very friendly.
Next morning we looked at each other and decided we really didn't want to stay another night and checked out. Left up about a thousand. Basically, its a never again. Next time we will drive the extra hour from Nashville and go to Tunica where you have several casinos and full pay VP.
Congrats on your $KAces, captain bill. I haven't seen those in a long time.
I will be curious to see the new casino. I usually stop here on the way to MI. The staff has always been very friendly.
Where is the full pay VP in Tunica?

I play $DDB and both Horseshoe and Roadhouse are all full pay 9/6. They are 9/5 at the qrt level which is better than Sams 8/5 at qrt level.
All true. For JOB devotees, ST has 9/6 down to 25 c. They call the many thou coin in worthy of only 10-15 USD bounceback. That takes getting used to. Good luck!
