Harrahs N. Kansas City..........would you go?

HET/CET in all their Wisdom, has been sending me comp Offers to oddball places.
Last time was Council Bluffs..........which I had to look up which STATE it was in?

We've never been to K.C............at least I know where it is. lol

I WISH they'd send me Flight/comps to AC or NOLA..........but No........its N. K.C.

Flight/comp offer for 3 nites, thru March. Yay, or Nay? Any advice? Thanks!

Well, I live in Kansas City and have been using my free room nights at Harrah's NKC for about six months. I finally got them to fix it so I could access the website and found a ton of offers from there. The rooms are very nice--you MUST demand Las Vegas Tower. The restaurants are very good. The Diamond Lounge has a little buffet every night and has a fireplace and several tvs-one wall size. In Missouri you have to pay for your drinks, but in the lounge even the call cocktails are only $3 and beers are #2. The casino is two stories with a poker room, high limit slots and most table games. Lots of pennies and an entire section of VP upstairs--but I am not a big VP player so I don't know the pay schedules. Knowing Harrah's, probably not the best.
You will definitely need a car if you come. If you do a weekend, you can get a really good rate here with Enterprise. Our airport is great--you just walk of the plane, grab your bags and walk out the doors to cabs, shuttles, etc.
There isn't a lot to do right there at the Casino. But Kansas City has tons of stuff that isn't too far away (15-20 minutes). I work for a tour company so I do a lot of area tours and would be happy to send you info for places you might like to visit while here.
Since the beginning of September I have won two jackpots $3000 and $1500 (one pennies and one $5.) I am staying there again tonight so can check some things out for you if you wish. PM me if you need more info. I haven't received any free room offers past January 6, so I am thinking they have realized they are dealing with a real low roller. LOL
I get offers with airfare all the time for places I don't want to go either. Like Laughlin. And I get offers with travel cash reimbursement for other places I have no interest in. Joliet, Biloxi, Bossier City, Council Bluffs.

Instead of complaining that I am getting offers I can't use, I simply don't go to places i don't want to go.

If I got an offer with airfare to KC, I don't think I would go just for the sake of taking the offer. And I especially wouldn't do it if Vegas were much much closer to me than KC

btw.....KC is a couple hundred miles WEST of the Mississippi
Thanks jhawkgirl, that helps. I was thinking about pulling the trigger on it,
just to see a part of the country we hadn't seen before.

I got some other nice replies on the Other board........and pictures too.

I've never seen any posts about casinos west of the Mississippi anywhere but on this thread and on people's trip reports, so you are okay with me posting that here, Calif. Living in a state that people consider a "fly over" isn't the most fun, but we do have a lot to offer. If you like College B-ball, there will be a lot of that going on in March. We have more fountains than Rome, the oldest outdoor shopping area West of the Mississippi and a large portion of our town was designed and laid out by the same man who created Beverly Hills and the National Monument spaces in Washington, DC. And we came back from OUR big flood in the 90s without the help of any famous stars and singers (nod to Karen who doesn't think we're worth a visit).
I'm coming the first weekend in June and it's not even free so someone wants to visit Kansas. We are staying there for the June Nascar race weekend. We ar booked in the other tower. What's the difference in it and the Las Vegas Tower?
The Atlantic City tower is the older of the two and is about 50 feet closer to the casino--which is still a nice long walk. They only have shower/bath combos in there. The LV tower is newer and has a bit nicer rooms with separate shower and bath and bigger bathrooms. If you can change, do, but unless you have trouble getting in and out of the tub, it's really no big deal. All the rooms have fridge, iron/board, makeup mirror, internet (free), WiFi ($9.95 a day), and blow dryer.
It is weird, I know, that KANSAS City is in Missouri--well there is one in Kansas but the main city is in Missouri. The track, which is in Bonner Springs, KS is awesome. There is good shopping and dining out there, too at Legends. It takes about 35 minutes on a normal day from hotel to track. We got to the track at about 6:45 am this past October and it was already decently crowded there. If you want to keep in touch with any questions I am happy to help any way I can.
Hi I was reading about Kansas City, and I was wondering if anyone knew about Harrah's having any Keno machines, and what they would be. Thanks
I will be going there (weather permitting) the 5th and 6th of January and will take a look around and reply.

And I agree KC has a lot to see and some very nice restaurants.
I'd really Like to see the K.C. area...........and Thank you for all the replies, I do appreciate it.

Guess my other big ? is Time of year.........I'm hoping HET offers us same trip, after March.

Or when my A's would be playing K.C. and could catch a game there...........would be fun.

When do you think is the Best time to go? Any particular time of year we should avoid?
Thanks again!
