Harrahs N. Kansas City..........would you go?

Well since it is the Midwest, the weather is always a consideration. Summers can get really hot (100's in July/August) and Winters can have lots of snow and ice. I was in KC two weeks ago and left a day early to avoid a snow storm and then the next week the temparture was in upper 60's. Hope you enjoy whenever you decide to go. PM me if you would like some restaurant recommendations.

I got the same offer. 3 nights & free air. Booked it and am going with a girlfriend Jan.7th. Never been to K.C. and am kinda excited. Been to lots of other Harrahs but first time in K.C. so you have to pay for your drinks - can you put them on your room charge? assuming the weather can & will be pretty iffy the first weekend in january so I guess we'll stay close to the casino. So there's nothing within walking distance of the casino?

I do play V.P. anyone have tips on machines?

I was at Harrahs NKC in December. Alcoholic drinks may be comped or charged to the room at the hotel bars outside of the casino, but not in the casino itself. The best nonprogressive video poker that I saw was 9/5 JoB, but there were 8/5 JoB and 9/6 DB progressives that may be better if the jackpots are high enough. There's absolutely nothing within walking distance of the casino - even if you're willing to walk several miles. If you're not going to rent a car to see what's worth seeing in Kansas City, then it's probably not worth making the trip from outside of the area.

They do have free coffee/soda machines in the casino, but yes you have to pay at the bars or from the cocktail waitresses. If you do decide to rent a car to see some of KC, you can get to the downtown area and the Plaza fairly easily. Lots of good restaurants choices, so if you want to get away from Harrahs, enjoy yourself. Weather will just be cold, 30's and below.

We recently spent a comped night at Harrah's KC on our way to visit family in OK. We stayed in the Las Vegas Tower & had lots of fun in the casino. Great variety of slots....all denoms. It was very clean and the staff were super friendly!

Thanks for all the info...am not sure if we will rent a car to see the city, but you're correct...we definitely should.
