In other years, I might have run into you at Showboat on one of those few remaing full pay machines. The 22nd is my birthday and I usually make a 2 night AC trip that includes my BD. This year I had a conflict with some other plans, so my BD trip was a few days earlier. I had a bad trip saved by a Shock Wave 4OAK for $1,000. This was the 2nd or 3rd time that I broke a FH in Shock Wave and pulled the quad. It was especially fun as I was giving a demo to the novice gentleman sitting next to me. I only play Shock Wave for approx. 100 credits unless the game is being kind to me.
The last time I made the drive up the Eastern shore (starting in Hampton, VA) to AC, I was so ticked at the price increase on the ferry that I saw no reason to bother since the extra gas was less expensive than the ferry. Unless you plan very carefully, there is also little difference in the time of the trip. However, the break in the drive is always restful. The summer price has just gotten out of line, in IMNSHO.
I rarely write any trip reports, unless something out of the ordinary happens. One of these days I will learn how to post my pictures and then I might consider my experience worthy of sharing.
