Hollywood buying Harrah's Cherokee?

We were just up at Cherokee and I was sitting next to a lady from Kansas who told me that Hollywood is "buying all the Harrah's". I knew about them getting St. Louis. I doubt they would be getting Harrah's Las Vegas but was wondering if there was any truth to Cherokee. Has anyone heard anything about this?

wow, rumor about Cherokee, I heard rumor about Harrahs, Joliet hmmmmm
I've not heard a thing about Harrahs Cherokee being bought by Hollywood. That would be crazy since a host told me a while back that Cherokee had more seven star players than any of the other Harrah's casinos.

But again, I don't know "big business". I know Harrahs has a tremendous amount of debt and brokering a deal to sell Cherokee may help their bottom line. but would not make me happy. we would then have no casino within driving distance. Cherokee is still a 4+ drive for us. There's the Greenbrier casino in WVA but who wants to go to a casino that requires men to wear jackets.
Harrah's does not own Cherokee, they only manage it for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Nation.
They just renewed the contract last year through 2018, so Cherokee is not going to become a Hollywood casino anytime soon.

Thanks Gamboozler. good info.
That is good to hear! Thanks!

Renewal of the contract isn't necessarily a guarantee of whether it will remain Harrahs affliliated. Harrahs operated the Prairie Band Casino (North of Topeka, Kansas) and even though the contract was renewed a decision was made by the tribe that they could make more money without Harrahs and canceled the contract.
Well then I guess we'll wait and see what develops. I certainly hope that does not happen. I supposed we shouldn't be surprised by anything these days.
Have heard from several host/players over the past few years that Cherokee is the most profitable casino (percentage wise) in the Caesars empire.

Not likely to part with that cash cow.
I am not surprised it's the most profitable casino that Harrahs owns/manages. Hubby and I, and our friends, have all contributed to the success. I'm hoping it stays a Harrahs...just to keep the offers coming from other Harrah's properies.
