Horseshoe Cleveland VP

Although I said I would not go into this property I decided to check it out Sunday evening. Just did a quick walk around and thought the place to be very nice inside. Plenty of machines available with many new games I have not seen. The place was very crowded and appears to be doing a very nice business.

Video Poker. I do not claim to be a video poker know it all as the only games I have the skill level to play are 9/6 JOB, 8/5 Bonus Poker and FPDW. Well this casino had 8/6 JOB in the quarter to dollar levels as well as 7/5 Bonus Poker. The deuces wild game that I found had a horrendus schedule paying only 4 to the 4 of a kind, 10 for the straight flush, 12 for the 5 of a kind and 20 to a wild royal.

I did not check every machine but did find some with 7/5 JOB so you really need to watch what you are playing here. I will check back in a few weeks to see what other games are available.

The lowest blackjack was $25 at 7 oclock on a sunday night and craps was at $15.

The worst and most suprising thing to me was no where for live lounge entertainment and I only saw one bar. Someone else told me there were two bars but I never saw the second one.

The non-smoking throughout the whole building was a very welcome thing and could well be the best thing going for this casino. I am sure that the smokers will disagree with this.
Thanks for the Eyewitness report there! I live 3 hours away (in Buffalo) and have been comtemplating heading southwest in the near future. Think I'll wait until I hear more about the VP, Piagow (bonus/no bonus?) and poker room!

I'm assuming that none of the VP was progressive??
Did not see any progressive video poker but that does not mean it was not there. Poker room looked nice and was very full when I walked by. Did not notice Pai Gow but was not looking either.
They had some kind of progressive sequential Royal video poker machines. I'm not sure if that was the only thing that was progressive. I know I saw a couple banks of machines.

I was there on 6/17, and they had 2 types of Progressive Machines. One was a sequential royal on Double Bonus Poker, so I didn't even give it a second look. The 2nd Progressive was fun. It was 8/5 Jacks or Better, with a progressive on the sequential royal, regular royal, straight flush and 4 OAK. I found it to be one of the more playable games there. I sat down and immediately hit the 4 deuces, for a bit more than the usual 125. Later I hit 4 aces, dealt to me. Machines always seem to know when I have just switched from DDB or Deuces! But I still had a fun time.

We live in Toledo, and we went briefly to Hollywood, which has the worst VP anywhere, so I am jealous of Cleveland! My husband is from Cleveland, and we used to go there all the time, but since his mom just moved out of state, we don't get there much. It figures, because it would have been much easier to play there than Toledo, since we'd have a built in baby sitter.

So we will be back to our very infrequent trips to Greektown.
