Horseshoe Hammond...Yuck!

Yesterday we went up and were really surprised how this place is going downhill. Restrooms were filthy. Machines were filthy. Service was terrible. The smoke was so bad we had to leave. Elaine has asthma and is really bothered by smoke but we have never had to leave a casino due to smoke before. Strange thing is that when they 1st opened the smoke was well controlled. Do not know if something was broken or what. Said something to a host and was told the smoke is always that bad now.
We keep hearing from alot of people about how lucky they are there and were thinking of making a stop there. Guess we will continue on to Four Winds!
yes,
four winds sounds less smokey to me
We were there March 19 in the afternoon and I didn't think that the smoke was particularly bad. I also have asthma/allergies, but I guess it depends on where in the casino you play. I know that some areas are much hotter (temp-wise) than other areas.

Attendants were cleaning the bathrooms.

The worst thing about Horseshoe occurs if the machine malfunctions or a hand pay is needed. It takes FOREVER to get one of the three attendants to assist. Alas, I won no jackpot, just no voucher came out, lol. It took well over twenty minutes.

Joy

Horseshoe Hammond is still our first choice of all the northern Indiana casinos. It doesn't matter which one you go to you always end up reeking of smoke when you leave. We go to Horseshoe because of the video poker selection(Four Winds has nothing playable, Blue Chip has a few machines but Hammond is by far the best). We also like to eat in the buffet and look at the marina and the view of Chicago. Blue Chip is our second choice and Four Winds is last. We like to play where the slot club will also give us comps in Las Vegas and Tunica.

One of the problems at the Horseshoe is that it is packed all the time. It is always busy especially if a good promotion is going on(right now they are giving away buffets for 30 minutes of gambling).
