Anybody have any info on these?? We're planning a 2 nighter & would appreciate any input, as we've never been there. We're Platinum, if that helps, over even matters!!
We have stayed there twice. The RC is a pretty fancy place. The pool is closed but we did not go there to swim anyhow. We paid both times ($60 per night) so the valet parking would have been something like $25 (free if the room is comped) so I dropped off the wife and parked at the casino valet (free for Platinum and above). It is about a three block walk back to the RC. We like the casino a lot and the buffet is excellent. Further if the weather is good walk down to 4th street and check out all the entities there. The street is a walking street with a lot of restaurants and bars. We also walked down to the lake, around the Brown's football stadium, and checked out the rock and roll hall of fame. Again all this depends on the weather. If you are going soon it should be OK to walk around. We like Cleveland and the casino. Too bad it is 5 hours from Indy. The casino VP is MUCH better and much more plentiful than the new casino in Cincinnati and the RC is MUCH closer to the casino than the hotels in Cincy.
THANKS fingerstim - that's exactly what we were looking for!! We're also paying $60 per night, so thanks for the "heads up" about the valet - I'll probably do the same with my wife!! Going at the end of October, so hopefully the weather will behave. Again, thanks for all the info!! - Dave
Have fun Dave. The weather in late October should be OK. You will need your coats but as long as the sun is shining walking is OK. The website has a nice map showing you exactly where the valet entrance is. Mapquest the hotel as it is on a one way street so you need to take the right approach to the hotel and then to the valet entrance. Plan in advance and do not trust your GPS. I wish we were going in October as they sent us free rooms and free play but my wife says "no" so no it is. Keep checking on-line as the rooms may become free as long as it is not Friday or Saturday.
Thanks again, fingerstim!! I've been checking for comp rooms - but no luck!! We DID receive some snail mail from The Horseshoe - naturally the offers are on dates we are NOT going to be there - no big deal, just $10 in free play. Appreciate all your advice!! - Dave
