Horseshoe So. IN question

It's been a while since we made a trip to this casino. Since my husband is a Diamond member, do they still offer a "freebie" drink night? Any details would be appreciated.

Also, how is the buffet remodel coming along? Any opening date yet?

Thanks in advance,

Joy
We were there last summer and they still had the drink nights on Tuesday and
Thursday night. They do now limit the number of drinks given out(I think it was 4). When we were there (July)they hadn't even closed the buffet yet.
Thanks for the info. We are hoping the buffet will be up and running by the second week in September. Legends doesn't impress me much.

I heard a rumor that the State brought the hammer down on free drinks as it is illegal for a casino in Indiana to give any liquor away. If it did happen it was very recent. Let see if we can get an update from a recent visitor to Hollywood, SI, Belterra, or any other Indiana casino that previously gave free drinks to high level players.

we are going to So IN next week, so I will report back then.

At Hammond Horseshoe, they have a Diamond renewal dinner. Each diamond player may bring one guest. Last year they gave everyone two free drink tickets. That was March 2013.

Occasionally they will have special events where invited guests can get a free drink.

There is no such thing as a weekly "happy Hour" in Hammond.

No changes have been made at Belterra. Was there Thursday evening and given four free drink tickets to enjoy inside the VIP Lounge.
Thanks for the update shisler. Apparently the rumor was just that, a rumor.
Just returned from a two night stay at SoIn.

The DL still has a happy hour. On Tuesday, it goes from 7 pm to 9 pm and each person get four drink tickets. Everything is cut off at 9 pm, and the bartenders leave the bar area.

On Thursdays, the happy hour goes from 7-10 with four drinks tickets.

We happened to sit at the bar, and were the lucky recipients of extra tickets from friendly people. We couldn't use them all. That enabled me to try some new bourbons, and if i didn't like them, I would just get something new.

The bartenders are very strict regarding their pours. An appletini filled about an inch of a ten ouce plastic cup (another pet peeve of mine).

Hotel was niice. Gaming was tight, both slots and VP.
