What are ECLVA'ers doing to prepare for the hurricane.

Caesars web site says all their AC properties at closing at noon on Sunday
Borgata stops gaming at 3 PM and closes at 4 PM
Received this e-mail on Nov 1st from my Caesars host.... Think I'll just wait a while longer before heading back with an influx of cash:

The following is a statement released at 8:03 PM last night by Thomas R. GIlbert of the New Jersey Attorney General Office:

"The entire oceanfront Boardwalk in front of the Atlantic City casinos is undamaged, with all dunes and lights intact. There is minimal to no visible damage to casinos and other businesses fronting the Boardwalk along the ocean. The Atlantic CIty Boardwalk that was washed out by Huricane Sandy is in an area limited to the Boardwalk fronting the Absecon Inlet only. That small section of Boardwalk is located in South Inlet, a prominent residential section of Atlantic City. It is a small stretch of Boardwalk that is being shown in video footage and photos."

The following information was provided directly to us in a conference call with Senior Members of the Caesars Entertainment Corporation, directly from Atlantic City:

Minimal, superficial damage only to the three Caesars Entertainment casinos on the Boardwalk - Caesars, Bally's & Showboat.
Minimal damage to Harrah's casino at the Marina, although some minor roof damage was experienced.
Casinos and hotels are expected to reopen to guests on Friday, November 2, with all public spaces available to guests except Sammy D's restaurant at Harrah's.
Junket flights from our area will continue as scheduled throughout the month of November.

Thanks again to everyone for their concern about the greatest gaming city in the US - Atlantic City New Jersey!

Blade, thanks for sharing the facts.
very good information, thank you
It's only a matter of time before someone realizes that there is no gambling future with A.C.

Years ago when they were the only show around, except for Las Vegas, things were different.

Now A.C. can't compete with the casinos in CT and PA, who take a big chunk of their business away,
not to mention Vegas. Even the new Revel didn't have the impact that it was expected to.

In my opinion, which I've said for years, someday the entire Boardwalk will be condos,
with maybe only a few casinos left in the Marina area.
Once one or two casinos pull out, A.C. will fall like a House of Cards.

AC never had good customer service & when competing casinos opened they didn't adapt. It was never a destination resort like Vegas & depended on day trippers.

As people realized they could get a comparable or better experience locally they stopped going to AC
FWIW, I've been to AC twice in the past 3.5 years. Both trips were about family, mom has relatives in the area, with casino play on the side. The second trip was about a month ago, Columbus Day weekend. I noticed a huge difference in the level of customer service and attitudes between June 2009 and last month. Much improved. The difference was as clear as night and day.

Sadly the damage was already done. One of the hardest things in business is to get a dissatisfied customer back
