One overlooked factor was that for a long time the casinos & their employees treated the customers as if they were doing you a favor (and it hasn't gotten much better). Those old lady bus trips from NYC were abandoned, the hotel rooms quality was poor & way overpriced & the food was nothing special.

The mediocre neighborhood, beggars and the incessant parking fees are other factors in creating an overall poor atmosphere.

Compounding the problem are $30 in tolls from NY, along with bumper to bumper traffic on the highways in the summer. One summer trip took us 5 1/2 hours the equivalent of a Vegas flight.

As you can see AC has a long way to go to achieve destination status. Our last trip was April and the next trip may not be until December

this "old lady" still takes the bus and can hardly find a seat because of the other 47 old ladies....
