Internet Sweepstakes?

I was in Florida this weekend and they have gaming establishments called "Internet Sweepstakes." I didnt have time to go in, but read up and apparently its a legal venue where you pay to "rent" time online and play a slots type game during your session. If you win, they pay you cash on site.

Im still not 100% sure how it works, but from what I understand, they focus on the Florida retirement crowd. They dont offer cocktails, but serve free soda, coffee and some serve free food.

Im both confused and intrigued...

We've have Sweepstakes parlors in North Carolina too.... State laws are passed to close them, the operators find a loop-hole and re-open... just a viscous cycle. Right now they are Closed, but give them a little time to find another angle and re-open.

I've never been to one.... just don't trust them. But have talked to people who play and enjoy them, mainly very low roller action, if you hit anything above $100 you have to "come back" the next day when they'll have enough money on hand to pay you.... other reports of being paid with Wal-mart gift cards, etc.

Think you would find about the same amount of entertainment by playing for fun on line from your on home. ie: Harrahs.com
