Live table games finally coming to Cherokee

Link
Awesome news!
Cherokee has been renovating their property for 2 years or more...the last time I was there I couldn't tell any renovations had been completed since my visit 2 months prior visit. They build skyscrappers in NYC quicker than they are renovating this casino. and some of the renovations already need to be touched up...hey CET you need to check to see who's dragging their feet on this construction project...

Can only imagine how long it will take to revamp their electronic table games to live dealers. But one thing I have noticed they seem to "import" a lot of their staff from foreign countries. if they import majority of the 400 new jobs from outside of the eastern part of NC - not sure how that would help the local economy.
I actually had an interview with the GM of the casino the other day and the plan is to start integrating the table games mid-August, with all in place by September.

They're hiring 500-600 people, with current staff getting first crack at going through dealer training. Said they're getting a lot of applicants from out of state with considerable casino experience (such as some dealers who are from N.C. but might have moved to Tunica or Vegas and now want to come closer to home). But he said while a large portion of the local Cherokee community is under 21, they will be hiring locally as well.

The entire project is expected to be completed by November. Brio and the retail shops opened last week.

What a beautiful job they did on this property. World class. Ate at the Brio Sunday. I give it a five forks!

Hey thanks for the update and hope your interview went well.

Can't wait, live just a couple hours away.
Thanks!

I took a trip up last week and am just amazed at how nice the place is now. That Brio is one of the best-looking I've ever seen from that chain. The rotunda and new upstairs poker room are also very sleek and chic - two words I never thought I'd use to describe Cherokee! But truly, a job well done up there.
