Need advice-Trump or caesars low$$ room for AC newbie??

Hi, all - sneaking to AC in mid-March (Mon-Wed) for a 1st-time visit prior to attnding a library conference in Philly....anyone want to make a case for staying at either Caesars, Trump Tower or even Bally's? Usually stay at Ballys( low-end comp) when in Vegas, but wouldn't mind a bit of luxury this trip. Will of course gamble and plan to use the Spa and just hang out. Not into fancy dining events - burgers are OK with me! so that's not an issue. And would like a convenient location on the pier. Planning a target per night price of about $70, and have checked TR info on web...rooms are starting at $44.

This will be a Solo adventure, I always feel safe as a single gal in Vegas - is safety at all a concern? I'm less about midnight carousing and more about getting up at the crack of dawn for a good walk-about. All help apreciated.

Also, anyone have good SPECIFIC help on getting from Philly airport to AC?.....I know its a train into town then an Amtrack to the coast...just looking for some support. Thanks!
Anything on the boardwalk is great.
For March..I would go with Caesars. You can walk in the building to Wild West and Bally's. We live in NJ. If I was to go and stay alone. I would pick Caesars and pay a little more. Ballys is nice but you sometimes get put in Clarage. The problem I have there is the one and ONLY time we stayed there we had about 15 pizza menu's under the door. I personally as a woman feel safer at Caesars and Showboat. I know noah cat likes Trump properties and they seem very nice. Check out Resorts too.
Right now, the AC casinos are advertising some of the lowest rates I have ever seen. A friend of mine went down on business and scored a room at Caesars for $39.00. These rates may not be around in March, as the weather improves, but there should still be something reasonable out there. Business is down dramatically and they are working to keep occupancies up on weekdays. Weekends are always busy.

There really aren't any awful rooms in any AC casinos from my experience. Anything at Caesars should be fine, unless you wind up with noisy neighbors.

Ned in NYC
Caesars Centurion Tower is my recomendation. None of these places have security at the elevators,
Centurion enterance is on the second floor in a well lit area that is near to where conferences take place.

If you have a car, use valet parking.

I would not recommend Bally's.

Showboat Bourbon Tower is not a bad choice, but may seem a bit desolate at that end of the boardwalk.
Caesars would be the better location.

Hey Codlta - I frequently go to A.C. sans husband and have felt perfectly safe at Caesars, Showboat and Harrah's, though I usually stay at Borgata.

But if you're interested in getting up and walking about, you prob want to stay on the Boardwalk, so I'd recommend a premium room at Caesars if you can get it or something in the Bourbon Tower at Showboat. I've never stayed at a Trump, so no advice for you there.

As for transportation...yeah, you can take a train from the Philly airport to the 30th Street station, then catch the Jersey Transit to A.C. Most hotels will have a jitney waiting there (either free or a couple of bucks) or you can grab a cab. The max they can charge you is $12, but whether you're going 3 miles or 10, except to pay the same $12 as they always find a way to get max payment

Hope that helps. Have fun! March is a beautiful time of year to go...before the heat and kicks in and annoying families take over the Boardwalk!
