New Harrahs Cherokee tower

Spent a night in the new creek tower Tuesday. Standard room comped. Very modern with large flat screen very comfortable bed. Separate sitting area. Only complaint was the bathroom is very small with shower and no tub. Separate toilet room. Was quite surprised as bigger bathrooms seem to be in vogue So if you stay there and want a tub ask for a Soco tower or Mountain tower room. If you can try to get a Soco premium as they have whirlpool tubs.
Is all the construction completed?

Rooms have been so hard to book that I have been staying at the Fairfield across the street. The last time I was there in September all the restaurants were close except the buffet and a sandwich counter. We ended up driving down the street to eat. Parking had been terrible and the valet charges. We said that we would not return until construction is over.

Art, is the place now worth the three hour drive?
Hey Rockymet,
Paula Deen restaurant now open. Had breakfast Very nice. Much better than that temporary cafe set up in convention room. With the new tower perhaps you can get a room now. Still a lot of construction going on. New parking garage for hotel is easy in easy out. Also new parking garage for the casino. Food courts and big expansion of casino will take another year or so.
Still the same Best quarter VP is 8/5 JB with 30 for 4oaks.. Best dollar is 7/5BP. They have $5 9/6 JB and 8/5BP New sections of the casino now open is very nice. New events area very cool. Lounge with bands in new section. So if you are really bored and need a break from this horrible winter it may be worth the drive. (weather permitting) I am only 25 miles away so stay there once a month overnight at least. Hope this helps. Art
I am going up today. I have a Soco Premium room comped for Friday and Saturday night. I gave them a lot of play 2 years ago (hit platinum from playing up there). I normally couldn't get a room there on the weekends but now I can. So maybe they have more available. If they were booked though they would get me a room in another hotel comped which was always nice. I am looking forward to it. You can use your reward points to pay for the valet, I generally parked in the garage, but with the new construction I will probably go for the valet, it isn't too expensive.

Just went this weekend as well and stayed in the new tower. Previously, they had about 500 rooms total. Now with the Creek tower, they have more than 1,000.
Agree with other comments on new room. Nice decor, great flat screen, fridge and bar area, but bathroom is a disappointment. Shower is nice and spacious enough, but the entire area is very small and the amenities are typical low-end Harrah's.
Paula Deen's is very reasonably priced. Will be really great when the food court opens. A Ruth's Chris and Brio are also coming in early 2012, as well as a full-service spa.
Pretty impressive how it's turning from a grungy, smoky casino to a full-fledged resort. I live in Atlanta, just under three hours away, and think it's totally worth the drive, though I'd still prefer a cheap flight to A.C.
Melissaru,

Give Beau Rivage some play. You will then get monthly free air charter from Atlanta plus two or three night comps in a first class resort with other good casinos nearby.

Rocky
I swooped into NC last weekend after reading j creek's post. As i prefer tubs to showering, i thank the origintor of this string, but gotta ask: is the area or subdivision in/near maaggie valley just a coincidence to be named 'j creek'? I hadnt see those letters just-so until driving to cherokee last friday. or did I imagine it? whatever, as always, Good Luck!
Hey Jimradford, J creek is short for Jonathan Creek which flows through Maggie Valley and also name of road which goes through beautiful Jonathan Valley. I live up the mountains from that road and thought that would be a good surname. It's an area of Haywood County with our own fire department. Also if you saw the movie Cold Mountain it is also in Haywood County. Hope this answers your question and enjoyed your stay.
Thanks, Rockymet! Whenever I'm in Biloxi, the Beau is where I play, but haven't been there since moving to ATL. That would be a nice option.
In case anyone is interested in the expansion plans...
