New Orleans Harrah's

Can get three comped nights. Is there complimentary drinks? Is it near Bourbon Street and French Quarter. Any help appreciated.
Drinks are free while playing like Las Vegas. The Total Touch system in on the slots so you order from the screen on the machine. Eliminates the wait for a cocktail waitress to come around.

The hotel rooms are nice and comfortable. Ask for a high floor with a view of the river. The hotel is connected to the casino via an underground walkway so no need to go outside if the weather is bad.

French Quarter is just a few blocks away. Canal St as well. Both an easy walk. Also a block away is the Riverfront street car. You can take that down to Café Du Monde and the French Market and head in to French Quarter from there as well.

Worried about how hot is. When I was there for a Convention in July about 2003 or so I thought I was going to die. Lol Vegas doesn't bother me, the humidity was unbearable. Lol
Was there mid June and the temps were 95-100 with 65% humidity. Rained a couple of the days in the afternoon.

French quarter is 7 short blocks away when you leave out the canal street exit door of the casino. Walk took me 20 minutes max. Early morning the temperature was no problem but coming back between 11-12 it was pretty sticky especially if there was no breeze.

An alternative is the streetcar/trolly that is located across the street (toward the river. It comes every 20 minutes and costs $1.25 (make sure you have exact change,) You can get an all day pass for $3.00.

My wife and I took the lunch cruise on the steamboat Natchez and I recommend it with the lunch. WIth AAA or AARP, you save a few bucks. Make sure and take a carraige ride around the French quarter. About $20 per perperson and had a great evening ride.
