No more points for full pay VP at Mohegan Sun

As of August 1st,

No more points for full pay VP at Mohegan Sun.

So, they add back some very playable games even at the 25cent/50cent/$1 level; some of which are at the bar. But, now, they pull the plug on earning any points (not like the previous VP point earning structure was so generous).

Incredible!
well that really sucks!!!!!!!
So how did they they do that ???, .... remove the slot card reader ?

Where are all of these full pay machines located ?

Thanks, Rick

I am here now until Wednesday. And, saw more machines in the Wind/Sky with the labels printed and pasted to the top of the machines "these machines do not earn players club points." What's crazy, is that some of these machines are multi-play machines that have games other than VP.

I checked quite a few, and the JoB is 9/6 on all of these "non-point" machines.

Rock'n Rick : a casino can program different point earnings on whatever machines they like. For example, I know at Harrah's/CET it's $10 per point; but they also program some machines for $20 per point.

At MS, the ONLY thing that is consistent is the earnings of points for 'regular' slots. I've seen them mess with the points on many other games such as vBaccarat, vSicBo, vRoulette. Basically, setting and modifying different point earnings all over the place.

I have a 'feeling' that this is going to last for a few months; and then they'll readjust again. Some 'bean-counters' probably decided they were making NO MONEY off of full-pay VP.

That explains why I lost $1,700 playing DDB Friday night while racking up exactly zero points.

Nice.

Hello Foxwoods.

....... but I really favor the shops MUCH better for redeeming points at Mohegan than Foxwoods.

Good one, Rick.

I don't think I have ever used points for anything other than food (and maybe a cigar or 2). I might try the Lake of Isles golf store next trip to Foxwoods.

Crazy thing is - Mohegan gave me 50 points on my card just to show up and play. Must be some new marketing thing.
Do they still only pour an 8 oz draft at the bars as well? I remember when they started that a few years ago. I thought it sucked at the time and now no points.
Yes on the tiny draft - and not all the VP on these machines are full pay either. I might as well go back to foxwoods - slightly better point earnings there for VP.

..... but they don't have the cool stores Mohegan has, like Brooksstone, Farmer's Almanac,
Spin Street, and that Electronics Store (where I got a Laptop, Digital Camera and a 46" Sony TV).
