NYE in Tunica?

We will be at Harrah's Tunica for New Years Eve. This is our first time spending the holiday in any casino. We thought about getting tickets for their party in the events center but it sounds like it's just a DJ & some music videos. We are thinking of just hanging out and playing in the casino instead.

Anyone have past experiences at Harrah's Tunice NYE? Any advice or comments in general about what to expect?

We decided against going to Beale St in Memphis or any other casinos that night since we'll be having a few drinks.

New Years day we switch hotels and spend two nights at the Roadhouse for a change of scenery. Plan on having a steak dinner at either the Range or Jack Binion's.

I don't have any recommendations concerning NYE but will pass along one bit of advice.

We went to Tunica for Christmas a few years back. On the way a bad snow storm developed which caused the Casinos to start shutting down restaurants and releasing some employees. Employees that were kept to work were put into hotel rooms. We were lucky that we were staying at the Sheraton (now the Roadhouse) so we had options for meals at the three casinos. Two days later the roads and parking lots were still ice and snow as they didn't have the equipment to clear it all away. I would just caution you to be watchful of any bad weather.

Thanks for the advice. Reminds me of our trip to Tahoe last spring. Shortly after we arrived at Harrah's a huge snowstorm hit. Had we left Reno for Tahoe any later we would have been stuck.

Hopefully the weather will cooperate. I bet locals freak out if they get any type of snow accumulation.

We were there during that snowstorm too. Stayed at Sams and had no problems with service. We did encounter up to 12" of snow on the way back to Nashville...added about 2 hours to the trip back. Now we check the weather forecast before going to decide if we should take the 4 wheel drive.
