Potawatomi in Milwaukee, WI

Just a warning if you plan to play at Potawatomi in Milwaukee. If you get an IRS ticket be sure to have your social security card and make sure it matches your drivers license or state id. I won a $2000 bingo and I had my social security card, well my name is hyphenated and I use my maiden name as just an initial on my drivers license. They were almost going to hold my winnings until I brought an id that matched my social security card. After 1 hour, they finally gave me my money. We asked them what would happen if we didn't have the social security card and they said they would hold the money until we brought it. They said they have new rules for processing IRS winnings. I have had an IRS win there a few times and my husband has also, and this is the first time that we have had this issue. I have also had IRS wins at casinos all over the country and have never had a problem.

So, now we are going to decide how often we will go there. I did change my id to match my social security card, so I can't wait until I get a IRS win at other casinos and see what they are going to do.

In Arkansas the casino has to to SEE something with the SSN on it. I had to return another day with my card to get jackpot money.

GEEZER ALERT: They would have accepted a Medicare card since those contain your SSN. But I didn't have one at the time. Anyway, if you have a Medicare or other government card that has your SSN on it, that may suffice if you get caught in that situation.

FYI, Mississippi withholds state tax. I've hit a few jackpots in MS, different cities, but none have asked to SEE my SSN.
