"Rivers Casino" in Des Plaines , Il

Does anyone have an update on Grand Opening. Last I heard was July 19th.
i stayed next door when i had a night to wait goin' west for memorial day. You may wanna search a tribune website for the uptodate; cause my impression is the work was pretty glacial. And I'm a career fed! The howler for me is rosemont being too mobbed up for the government, so desplaines must be better. get all the flip out. Now the state legislature thinks chicago needs several more casinos, & the boats may be allowed to move the action on shore. Yeah, rosement is way too crooked. but all the new sites must be okeydokey. Good Luck!
There was an ad in yesterday's Trib showing that same opening date, so I guess it's relatively on schedule.
Went to the sight this past Monday. Looks almost done, at least from outside. Talk about location, location, location - right next to the interstate and with all the O'Hare hotels filled with bored travellers. I saw a few different projected dates in newspapers and on their website, all for sometime in middle to late July.

Is this a Harrah's ,Boyd or MGM casino?

The opening date I am seeing now in their advertising is the 18th. Don't know who they are affiliated with.
Found this at the end of a press release from June 20,2011.....

Midwest Gaming & Entertainment, LLC, a partnership between affiliates of Neil Bluhm and Clairvest Group Inc., is the owner, developer and operator of Rivers Casino. Collectively the partners bring a wide range of development and gaming experience to the project, having developed, constructed and managed casinos, luxury hotels, and other hospitality businesses around the world.
Well I know they have casinos in Pennsylvania also called the rivers
And to help celebrate the grand opening in a couple of weeks, the Illinois Tollway Commission is about to completely mess up the interchange between I-294 (the Tri-State Tollway) and I-90/190, so if you are heading south on the tollway and want to exit eastbound, the logical way to get to the casino, you now have to go west towards O'hare and do a turnaround at Mannheim Road. Man, is that going to be a mess.
That will make a very interesting grand opening. More complaints about the traffic than the casino.
