Revel thoughts

It's a wonderful property.

I only wanted to gamble but every attention to detail is amazing, soothing and elegant.
Self parking charges you... automated machines inside the building so you can ease out. Bathrooms are an upgrade from even Borgata.

Long line for cards but it moved fast-- little bit of everything game-wise..with stellar views of the Ocean...soothing brown carpet and reccessed ceiling lighting ala Aria.

It's as if Aria and Cosmo had a baby named Revel.

Nothing under $279.00 per night and it goes up to $399.00+ for weekends.

Machines are all LED ala Cosmo/ screens go wide once you choose your game and denom.
best VP I found was 9/5 DDB and 8/5 JOB but I made a grand on STP in 5 minutes w/ a heart royal..

your thoughts?
I walked around there last Wed. and had the same idea about Aria and Cosmo.

It really is too soon to tell. Most tables were $5 because they were training or doing dry runs on the opoerations. From the casino I had to walk stairs to get to the poker room. An escalator would be nice,
It seemed like a very long walk to get to the poker room, Only two tables were open, but there were 37 tables in the room. That is a lot. They told me they are planning tournaments after Memorial Day.

There were certainly enough bars, and a lot of space devoted to people who want to sit and order drinks.

Only a few restaurants open now. Cafe and steakhouse still closed.

Inquired about a players card. They only have one card. No premium card.

I looked at the high limit room. A large bar, a view of the ocean, but only two blackjack tables and two
baccarat tables. There were four baccarat tables in the main casino which had dealers who all spoke English
and were fairly attractive, So maybe my Asain friends will overlook the no smoking and play here anyway.
There were none playing on Wed at 4pm.

The selection of carnival games was pretty basic. 3 card poker, 4 card poker, let it ride.
No Texas holdem bonus or Ultimate Texas Holdem. and no ,plans to add those games.

For now, I have no compelling reason to go back there, Will definitely revisit in a few months.
Yes, the first totally NO SMOKING Casino & Hotel.
AC is fueled by the blue-hair day trippers..so I wonder how long they'll hold out on casino rated rooms.
This is NOT Maccau or Saudi Arabia or Hong Kong

I was in the High Limits area also-- looked like a small Rick's Casablanca back room.. large Oak bar, 3 tables, roulette, no machines and soaring floor to ceiling windows facing the beach & Ocean.
One guy was irate b/c they wouldn't give him a second marker and giving people hell about it.
I am staying at Harrahs this weekend and planning to check out Revel.
When you say "hold out on casino rated rooms" does that mean there are no comped or discounted rooms for players?
Are they simply renting the rooms at retail? Why bother with players cards?

"When you say "hold out on casino rated rooms" does that mean there are no comped or discounted rooms for players?" <--- for now, yes.. give them a year or two ..

Are they simply renting the rooms at retail? <--- yes. (see above)

Why bother with players cards? <-- for when wake up & they see the place is 45% filled and they start using the card system for a date-base to entice us there
We were in AC last weekend, but didn't get a chance to check out Revel. We were too busy taking money from the Donald.
Maybe next time.
I walked through the lobby and check in counter.
Opposite the check in was a room with glass doors, a counter that looked like a smaller check in,
and a man with a tie and jacket standing there. It really had the look of a VIP check in area.
The doors were locked and there was no signs on the door.

I went to the box office and asked about prices for the Beyonce concert set for Memorial Day.
As of last week, they were sold out.

I am getting then sneaking suspicion that there are comps being given out, but not to the run of the
mill ie. diamond card, black card, platinum card, high roller.

Of course I am still confused, where exactly would these high rollers be playing.

ps. I spoke to a friend who went there last Saturday and told me the lights were turned on in the poker room, and it was "beautiful". Nicer than anything on the East Coast or,Las Vegas.

We did check out Revel Saturday before heading to dinner at the Pier at Caesars.
I concur with the Aria/Cosmo similarities of the property or at least the casino.
We were at Harrahs and Borgata prior to heading over to Revel.
Both places were jammed and Revel was empty. There were 5 or 6 employees working at the desk to sign up new players card applicants but no one filling out the applications.
It was a ghost town!
I'm waiting to hear about all of the super rich out-of-towners that are flocking there because it's such a "destination" resort. People will flood there from all over the world because it's just such a 'hip' place to be seen! Lucky for them they won't need the regulars from NYC, Philly, NJ, DE, etc. because they aren't giving any of the nearby regular customers to AC any reason to stop in.
Stu
They can say what they want now.
Come Labor Day and all those rooms are empty, the free rooms will start.
