Some Biloxi questions

We're going to Biloxi in April, got a cheap air package from the Beau Rivage but planning to mostly play elsewhere (don't tell them!). Got a few questions, hope someone can help:

1. Anybody know if Isle of Capri still has the mini-baccarat with 4% vig?
2. Anybody know about the blackjack conditions? Any decent SD or DD for lower minimums? Does Isle of Capri still have their 4-deck game?
3. Anybody heard about when (or if) IP will switch over to the BConnected program?

Thanks!
Jon ,
haven't been there in over a year because of wife's illness , but last i heard was several more of the casinos were hitting soft 17 . last i knew IC still had good games ( 4D ) and 2D with low min and my favorite Treasure Bay still had 6D and 2D both low min at least during the week . since i have been there i know my other favorite Boomtown started hitting soft 17 . you should pose your question on bj21.com on their free mesage board , you may get excellent info or someone may just suggest you buy CBJN .i always bought this before my Las Vegas trips but didn't need it before Biloxi trips because i used to go 4-6 times a year . it is cheap enough ( $13?) . had comped flights to Beau Rivage and rooms from about 2006-2010 either on my own or through a friend ,but they tightened up there promos to exclude the smaller players . played there enough to keep them happy but played mostly elsewhere
good luck

Thanks, Wayne, this is helpful. I figure we'll hit the Isle for some blackjack anyway. I wonder if they still have the mini-baccarat with the 4% vig? Boring game (to me, anyway), but a good gamble.

I had thought that all the cheap air packages from TPA or PIE had disappeared, I was surprised to find that the Beau still has the $199 deal. I remember when IP had them, we did that a bunch of times.

another update ,Landry's is buying the IC in Biloxi and re-branding it a Golden Nugget ,probably would be the end of " good games " if and when it is approved

Well, that really sucks. I just glanced at the article, I'll read it later; says the sale will happen in 4 to 6 months. At least I'll get in under the wire, but I guess this will be the last time. So much for trying to get on their radar. Not a lot of good options left in Biloxi after that sale, unless Landry's decides to keep some decent games (Road House in Tunica has some very good BJ and VP in spite of the Harrah's ownership; not sure how they made that decision, but I'm not complaining).

Thanks, Wayne.
I was never on LVA forums until I answered you the other day ,was content with playing every week in Port Richey and several trips a year to Biloxi and maybe 1-2 times a year to LV and reading bj21.com forum . but since i have not been on atrip since 2010 other than 2 trips to PR boat last sept ,at least i can read about trips to fill some of my free time while home with my wife .
as i said ,unless you find out otherwise my favorite is Treasure Bay ( not the food OK at best ) last i was there ( 2010) there 2d was $10 and 6D was $5 there rules were still great S17,DAS and RSA which saved me many a time since I always seemed to get an A on an A
i used to rent a car to go there and Island View when rentals were cheap because the bus didn't go there after Katrina . then in about 2008 the bus system started running down the coast again "the beachcomber " the transit is $5 for the day . Would play TB most of the day but leave after dinner because the bus quit early and runs only every 45 min ,most of the rest of play was at BT and IC ,with time thrown in at BR
the CBJN might not be a bad investment ( to save a lot of shoe leather ) if you cannot get good info from bj21.com .sometimes the rules change or the don't have a current spotter for anew update

here's the transitsite for biloxi just for info

didn't answer 1 of your initial questions . last few times i was there only the IC had a SD game that was
3-2 ,all others were 6-5 . the IC's 1 SD game opened after noon when i was there and it was either $10 or $ 15 min . problem was after it was open for a short time there would 3-4 players at the table making it a rather slow and poor game also it was D10 ,making it the same % as their 4D and not as good as their 2D

Hi, Wayne. I don't think I'd bother with a D10 SD game, even if it's 3:2, just too restrictive. Four Queens had (maybe still has) that; why bother in Vegas when the El Cortez is right down the block. My wife plays more blackjack than I do, so this will help, thanks. I've been playing more VP in recent years, and it looks like the Isle still has plenty of 9/6 JoB, although I'm sure Landry's is going to wipe that out real quick.

My wife used to do the SunKruz out of Port Richey a lot; good shoe games, but it's a bitch to drive up there from St. Pete, and now they're charging a boarding fee, so she hasn't done that in a while.

Thanks for all the info!

Hi Jon , if your wife did the PR boat a lot ,i'm sure we played the same tables together quite often , if she did the day trip .i would go most sundays and a lot of my days off . in fact i hope i didn't chase her off any tables because i have been known to be outspoken with some of the knuckleheads ( i know she is a excellent player with the knowlege you show on your posts ) .i am easy to spot at about 6ft 5 in with a full white beard .
sounds like we like the same things . my last trip to LV in 4/2010 i was comped at the 4 Queens 3 nights but only played some DD and BJ Switch there . the rest of the time was at ,you guessed it ,El Cortez . my next 3 nights were comped at the orleans ,but i still found my way back downtown a couple of times .
and yes i love 9/6 JoB ,which seems to be a vanishing breed . that's all i play unless i have free play and the store doesn't have it .have been lucky enough to get 2 royals , one in 2000 at the IP in Biloxi on the 50 cent for 2K ,the other at Island View in Gulfport in 2/2007 on the $1 for 4K .both times it was after midnight and i was getting burned out on the BJ tables . i drove that trip in 2007 to try to earn free airfare from either the IP or BR after Katrina . had my best trip ever up there but couldn't win a hand at IP where i stayed and spent many hours at BR to lose a little . but they did start sending me free trips . i think i won at almost every casino that wasn't involved with flights
my best royal ( about 1 1/2 years after i started playing ) was on the old Empress boat in 5/1996 out of clearwater on let it ride .won $15K on a $15 bet . it was the 8th hand of the night and the only reason i was playing it was the $5 BJ tables were full . prior to that i had taken 2 bus trips to Biloxi , but after that I either flew or drove my new truck which i bought with part of my winnings . unfortunately i am still driving the same truck . the royals on VP aren't big enough .
since i am a 2 finger typist ,this took a long time ,as you can tell i have too much time on my hands

Thanks, Wayne, I'll have to ask my wife if you sound familiar to her. She is a very good player. Like me, though, she likes the SD and DD games that we find in Vegas. El Cortez is a favorite; we'll probably try to stay there on our next trip, in the summer. MSS and Four Queens are probably our favorite places for VP, or maybe Sam's if we're out that way.
