Hubby and I decided to take a mini get-away to AC the week after Christmas. We usually stay and play at the Tropicana, where we get free room offers and good deals on food.
Arrived on Wednesday about 1 PM, waited in a short line for our room, we always request North Tower as it is right off the casino floor. got a room on the 3rd floor, it was very comfortable, king bed, large shower, kitchen area with wet bar.
Down to the casino we ran. I usually play video keno on the lower level, across from the buffet, as it is a smoking area and I get to watch the people coming in and off the boardwalk. Much to my shock: not one drink server was assigned to the lower level for the 3 days we spent there!!!! If you wanted drink service, you had to go up to the main level of the casino. This was unacceptable to me!
Upstairs we played in nonsmoking, and I usually step into the high roller parlor to have a cigarette and play the one dollar poker/video keno machines. I sat down, began to play, ordered a drink, and quickly ran through 40.00 on the machine. So I wanted to move to another machine - as I sat down, I noticed that the rest of the row is now converted to $25.00 machines!!! What??? They left only one machine at the dollar level. Now I am totally not happy.
It was one of those non-winning trips for us, and I was just not at all happy with the place. Perhaps time to find another home. I used to stay and play at Harrahs in AC, and I think I may head back that way. We left early on Friday morning, I had originally intended to stay and play most of the day on Friday and head home in the evening, but I just didn't feel like staying there.
In fact, on the way to AC, we usually stop at Mohegan Sun and grab a coffee and donut and play for an hour, just to break up the drive. I sort of wished I had just chosen to stay in CT and play there instead.
Anyone else feeling disappointed in Atlantic City lately?
