How quick will the vacation be? Will you have a car? Did you get charter flight offers?
My choice if free flight charter, Biloxi Beau Rivage hands down, just because it is so nice. Love the Eight75 Bar. It gets loud and crowded later in the evening...go earlier for some good drinks.
I haven't played tables in Biloxi or Tunica in many years.
Tunica will be hot; Biloxi will be very much more pleasant temperature (ocean breeze).
TUNICA:
1. Gold Strike (MGM), Horseshoe (Harrah's), and Roadhouse (Harrah's) complex, close together. My preference is Horseshoe, but Gold Strike is good too, and I'm told Roadhouse rooms were nice. Good buffets at Horseshoe and Gold Strike, haven't eaten at Roadhouse.
2. Or the Hollywood, Resorts, Sam's Town complex. Haven't stayed at any, but like playing at Sams and Hollywood OK. Haven't given Resorts a chance, but didn't like what I saw.
Hollywood buffet is just OK, IMO.
3. Fitzgeralds is off by itself, but has not been rebranded as has the one in Vegas (The D). Rooms were fine, not high end but they have some, I'm told. Good buffet. Noisy but fun place always having promos and games going on. Two floors of machines.
4. Ballys is also off by itself, but fairly close to the Horseshoe/Gold Strike/Roadhouse complex. I don't care for Ballys in any way.
It isn't a big deal to drive between the "complexes" or stand-alones (Fitz and Ballys).
BILOXI:
1. In Biloxi, Beau Rivage wins hands down as the nicest place. I'm not crazy about their VP. Really bad games in one area, quarter 3/5 plays in another area that is OK. And a few scattered dollar machines here and there. The Hard Rock is next door to the Beau. Not a huge selection of VP, though maybe I just haven't scouted it out enough. Only been there three times!
2. Would not recommend Harrahs in Biloxi. Until about a year ago it was Gulf Coast Grand. Tiny casino. My friend did a free flight charter there a couple weeks ago. When they finally had her room "ready" at 11 pm, the room had not been cleaned from the previous guest. They finally moved her but it was a hassle. She only took the charter to play at the Beau, which she did about the whole time, some at Hard Rock
3. Golden Nugget is a pretty hotel, probably rooms are very good. Bright modern casino,
didn't care for the machines at all. Didn't take note of VP or tables.
The good thing about Biloxi is the Casino Hopper, trolleys which you can pay $6 to get on and off all day or $1.50 for one ride, to the casinos on their routes. (I think they may not run on Sunday, but not sure). They have a schedule at each casino drop off place, and schedules you can pick up inside the trolleys. Correct change required. If you pay the $6 you get a card to insert in the slot each time you get on.
4. Someone said a locals casino called Ocean View, or something like that, is better for machines. You'd have to get a different Hopper schedule to get to it. Haven't been. There are a lot of casinos in Biloxi besides the ones on the Hopper routes, I think. The Hoppers are good if you don't want to bother with your own car.
5. There may be some $5 bj at the IP, or Palace, or Boomtown.
This probably hasn't been helpful in terms of the best games.
I'm going to Sams in Tunica July 11 (bus trip), Gold Strike July 20 and 21, and Beau Rivage Biloxi July 26 for 3 nights. I'll try to pay better attention, see if any have $5 bj.
