Just took a spur of the moment trip to Tunica. Stayed at the Roadhouse, as usual. The old place is getting a little long in the tooth, and the hotel needs another makeover. Still, it's a good place to stay.
Roadhouse has moved the poker machines to the far back corner of the casino. They've replaced all the machines since my last visit a year or so ago. Can find a several machines with 9/6 DB, and several with 9/5 DDB and TDB. Lots of machines with specialty games (Spin, Ultimate X, Dream card, etc.). Played enough to satisfy my yearning, but unfortunately, didn't score any notable wins.
Horseshoe has their VP machines, but they're spread about and pretty limited. Wandered through Goldstrike, and found their machines back up against the Atrium Cafe. Scanned a couple of machines, didn't find any worthwhile odds. Sadly, I don't think anybody else did, either. The VP area was vacant.
Tunica has always been very enjoyable for me, but with the casino/hotels getting worn, the decline of VP odds and the influx of bizarre video slots machines, I may not be back. The trip to Beale Street will likely entice me back to Memphis, but I'm not sure about Tunica anymore.
