Tunica Update

Just took a spur of the moment trip to Tunica. Stayed at the Roadhouse, as usual. The old place is getting a little long in the tooth, and the hotel needs another makeover. Still, it's a good place to stay.

Roadhouse has moved the poker machines to the far back corner of the casino. They've replaced all the machines since my last visit a year or so ago. Can find a several machines with 9/6 DB, and several with 9/5 DDB and TDB. Lots of machines with specialty games (Spin, Ultimate X, Dream card, etc.). Played enough to satisfy my yearning, but unfortunately, didn't score any notable wins.

Horseshoe has their VP machines, but they're spread about and pretty limited. Wandered through Goldstrike, and found their machines back up against the Atrium Cafe. Scanned a couple of machines, didn't find any worthwhile odds. Sadly, I don't think anybody else did, either. The VP area was vacant.

Tunica has always been very enjoyable for me, but with the casino/hotels getting worn, the decline of VP odds and the influx of bizarre video slots machines, I may not be back. The trip to Beale Street will likely entice me back to Memphis, but I'm not sure about Tunica anymore.
Visited Tunica twice last month (at the RH) and really like the RH setup. There are a lot of slant tops in the VP area and all the $DDB is FP. Its also pretty quiet. Over at the Shoe, not as many slants, but still lots of machines and they are also FP $DDB. The Shoe's machines are mostly next to the buffet, so there is a lot of traffic and noise. Been lucky at both and going back the end of the month (just before my Vegas trip). Will make 5 trips to Tunica and 5 to Vegas (of course Tunica are 2 night trips and Vegas are 5-7 nights).
Will be staying at Sams since just started my NY on the card. Not as many machines as before in the new area (especially at the $ level???) and they are 9/5 at the $DDB. But I'm really lucky there and they always put me in a suite and are generous with their FP.
Gold Strike sucks with best machines upstairs and they are only 9/5's at the $ level...never felt comfortable there.
