When a comp isn't a comp

Recently took a comped junket to Atlantic City When I got back I realized there had been a significant drop in my Total reward credits. Found out they had taken credits from my account for the hotel room. When I questioned this I was told that all the Atlantic City Harrahs properties always deduct any points from your total rewards account (if you have enough) for any comp they give you. Yelled long and loud enough to get it reversed and it won't happen again as won't go back.

Posting this in Harrahs section as well.
1.Was this junket organized by Harrahs or a third party operator?

2. Were points taken off for the room as well as food and drink?

3. Were you told of a certain amount of play that they were expecting? Did you play?
This was a Harrahs Junket! There was no required amount of play, but we did play. We did pay for my wife's trip in advance (air and hotel) as it was not comped. Upon checkout though, they had even charged my Credit Card for the room. (That took a bit to get that corrected and a comment of "sorry, don't know why that happened")
All Harrahs properties in Atlantic City have the policy of deducting points for Diamond Lounge access and we did go there once and decided it wasn't worth going back (Borgata was much better). Otherwise, I do not use points for food and drink, but put it on my room.
The hotel room is strange, but in AC if you get F&B (either LFB or RFB) they will deduct reward credits first, and then pick up the rest.
So, if you are 'coded' as LFB, and have $70 in your TR account, go to the coffee shop, charge, $100; the first $70 will come from your reward credits (effectively zero'ing them out), and then CET picks up the balance of $30. Of course, once you are at ZERO, they pick up the charges (per your level of LFB/RFB).

The first time I was no-comped was NOLA. The pit boss took my card when I asked for a buffet, went to the 'puter, came back empty handed and told me the buffet would be comped. I asked if it would be coming off my points or truly complimentary. Then he admitted I would lose the reward dollars by trying. So i don't throw dice downtown now. At least the horseshoe in tunica will still comp a gambler. Good Luck!
