Now that Don Barden has passed I wonder who owns the property. I heard the new owners were making some changes (on VPFREE2) but not who owned the property.
Not long before his passing Barden was offered the opportunity to trade one of his two licenses for the right to build a land based casino near the toll road. Seemed like a no brainer but I think his health (lung cancer), his financial condition, and the tight money situation caused nothing to be done.
Both boats and the hotel are in deplorable condition and most of the best clients have gone elsewhere. If a new owner had access to the money and the deal was still offered it looks like a gold mine.
