2011 NASCAR

Looking for advice on best way in and out of the speedway. I know where it is; I am wondering if my rental car or a shuttle bus would be a better option. If I drive in, where is the best lot to park for easy get away? I see that the track offers the "Lucky 7" parking area- $60 for the weekend. It states that it has a dedicated escape lane. Anybody done this? Any pearls of wisdom on logistics would be appreciated.
We are contemplating doing the Nascar wknd thru HET/CE early March.
IF you book an offer thru a Hotel, they generally have Buses to get you to/from venue.

Depending where you're staying? You might inquire from Your Hotel, if they have any shuttles going.
From what I hear, thats the best way, as traffic/parking can be a nightmare.

I have never paid extra, go to lot 7 and park as close to the outbound road going toward the interstate. When you pull in, they may try to get you to go to A B C or D , make up a story or blow right by the guy directing traffic, The ADA lot is in 7 if you have to use that excuse. I always get a spot as close as I can to one of the gates. The best thing is to go early and tailgate awhile.I have done this several times and the wait was minimal. The only problem with this strategy is you have to walk quite a bit.

Thanks everyone.

Depressing.
Hello, This will be our 10th year going to the races and we have tried every form of transportation. Driving in, CAT buses, private charters, and camping at the track. I would recommend one of the private busses (Key Tours is what the track recomends). the frustration of driving out is just not worth it for us, the busses have accses to Nellis AFB, so they dont fight the traffic in or out. Friday and Saturday is not that big of a deal but Sunday traffic backs up about 3 hours. IMHO we prefer relaxing after the race and not fight the traffic.
Any time we go to a Nascar race, Vegas or otherwise, we make it a practice to just settle in for a couple of hours after the race is over. Bring laptop, magazines/books, munchies, stuff to drink, etc. and just relax in the car until the traffic dies down. The time goes by faster than you think, and when you see the traffic die down, you can just drive home in peace! Lots of people tailgate in the parking lots after the race is over, too, with the same idea.
