Absinthe

Well, the reviews for this show have mostly been great. I went to see it this week, and my review would be a C+ or a B-. I don't mind the bawdiness, but I thought this guy was sometimes just crude and not that funny. Some of the acts were really good, but bottom line for me, the performers were just Good, compared to Cirque Du Soleil's performers being great. Of course, the price is half of Cirque, so that's okay. You'll probably enjoy it - but I would not say it was a great show.
Thanks for posting. Absinthe is on my "to do" list for my Feb. trip. You have lowered my expectations for this show which is a good thing. I hate when shows get over hyped and then I'm disappointed.
Thanks p401841.
I was debating about seeing this show, and now you've helped me to decide. I think I'll pass on it.

So glad to see someone else share my opinion. I LOVE "Las Vegas" style comedy...Vinnie Favorito, Zumanity, etc... so I was certainly not offended. I thought Absinthe was just plain stupid, like you could scream obsenity and it was automatically funny. Very sophmore.

I'm not a huge Cirque fan either, Mystere bored me to death. But at least I thought the acts were pretty good. I ended up leaving Absinthe about 2/3 through, even tho I paid $60 for a ticket, as I figured I'd rather be doing just about anything else than listen to Penny or the Gazillionaire for one more minute.

I, too, was caught up in the hype. But I'm usually only minorly disappointed and am still glad I went. Boy, not this one. To each his own.
