Australian BEE GEES...NEW Report

I haven't been in Excalibur for at least 12 years...it hasn't
changed much, LOL!...however, it was worth the visit.

A big fan of vocal harmony groups, I was real curious to see what
The AUSTRALIAN BEE GEES could do. I SAW what they could do...
it was just hard to HEAR what they could do. By that I mean the sound
system in the THUNDER from DOWN UNDER showroom wasn't the best
for a LIVE music vocal group.

They obviously had a fairly decent sound system I thought...adequate at
best might be more accurate, but it was hard to tell. They didn't have a
professional sound engineer and with out one, the harmonies/balance on
many songs weren't the best.
Some however, were excellent and along with their very close resemblance
to the real guys...off 'n on you could be caught up in the illusion...they are
pretty good!

They do a meet 'n greet after the Show, selling and autographing their CD's
and we talked about the sound issues...
DAVID SCOTT (Robin Gibb) who is VERY GOOD, just sighed and said..."yeah,
we're just working with what we have here (Excalibur)...we're working on it".

The showroom is fine. Not too large...floor seating chairs, booths, and a rear,
upper back area along a counter (for drinks) with high bar stools (with backs)
with a real good view of the stage and good sound.
The Excalibur website seating chart is pretty simple and I chose a booth.
Had I known about the bar stools in the rear, I would have taken one of them.

These guys are good and they use quite a variety of Bee Gees songs...most
with their LIVE band and some...just them...with acoustic guitar to show off
the harmonies.

During their DISCO hits, WAYNE HOSKING (Maurice Gibb) announces he's turning
his side of the showroom into HIS own Club and encourages the audience to use
the dance floor which many folks did!...AH HA HA HA, STAIN' ALIVE, STAIN' ALIVE

The AUSTRALIAN BEE GEES have a good Show...the audience certainly had a good time!
Not quite the energy of their Aussie cousins Human Nature but hey...it's a totally different
style of music and quite entertaining for BEE GEES fans!

You do such great reviews... you just always make it so easy when the time comes to make show decisions. Thanks for all your comments.

They truly help....If you aren't, you should be paid a consulting fee for being a great critic.

5 Claps for your review. I am looking forward to seeing them again if they are still playing during our next trip.
I just saw them two nights ago. I found the first 20-25 minutes to be somewhat "slow", as that's when they did their slower 60's music. Once the Disco years started, they definitely rocked the joint. I got very good seats through goldstar, but of course I found the venue small enough to have good seats throughout. I am spoiled though, I've seen Human Nature 6 times, and nothing compares to them!
