Sunday we did the Beatles show at Saxe Theatre - we bought through the LVA link and got VIP seating (3 rows back - centre stage) and 2 buffets at Spice Market Buffet as a package for slightly less that $100.00 for two - including fees/taxes etc.
Front and second rows are too close/too low. Our seats were the ones that I would have chosen so we were very happy. Small theatre though so I don't believe that there are any bad seats. (except the 2 front rows)
As with any Vegas '60s show there were a couple of corny elements. Before we even entered, we had a pitchman telling us that we should cheer and scream loud and often - and he gave several demonstrations on how to do it. Given that it is themed around a TV show it kinda belonged - but pesonally I didn't enjoy it.. When the show started "Ed Sullivan" came onstage to introduce the Beatles. Being fron Britain I had never even seen Ed Sullivan so the impersonation was lost on me. During the show the same guy also does Austin Powers and a Summer of 67 Hippie. He was definitely talented and had a lot of charisma - it was an element I didn't expect and the crowd (yes - it was packed) really got into it
The Beatles were fabulous. They worked very hard. John is the star - his accent and his vocals are nailed - and his look is OK. George doesn't look anything like George - and he wears a ridiculously false moustache by the time Sgt Peppers arrives - but he is a smoking lead guitarist and has the sound of the vovals pretty good - but not his speaking voice.
Ringo doesn't look like Ringo but he is a great drummer - probably better than Ringo - and he does sound like him when he sings.
Paul? I want to see the show again. Pauls mike was all top end - very little mid and no bottom. He was a great bass player (who played base left handed and rhythm right handed - that was cool - but he didn't sound like Paul.
BUT - he did one song from the back of the theatre on a different mike - and he sounded very much like Paul - and he also did a song on John's mike - and sounded very much like Paul. So he made a great Paul but the sound guy let him down.
The show wass very high energy and ran about 75 minutes. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes the Beatles - it is probably the best that you will see.
I saw the Beatles show in Vegas a couple of years ago but they broke up - I believe that this is the same John.
Highly Recommended
