Bellagio Art Gallery----Painting Women

During my trip to Vegas last month I visited the art gallery at the Bellagio to check out their new display "Painting Women". I do appreciate people who have talent in the arts, especially painting/drawing. I have a hard time drawing 'stick' people, so I am always in awe of people who can produce masterpieces on canvas.

Painting Women is a display of art works by women artists of the late 19th and earlier 20th century. I have to admit that I was not familiar with most of the artists with the exception of Georgia O'Keeffe. The price of admission was $16 and I used their talking "wand" that gave background/information on each artist and the paintings on display. Toward the end of my visit, one of the gallery employees gave a talk about each painting, so I joined the 'tour'. I spent about 90 minutes total in the gallery and enjoyed every minute of it as well as gaining new knowledge/appreciation in the world of art. (expanding my horizons...who would have thunk?)

This was my second visit to the gallery; having taken in their Andy Warhol display in December. This venue offers something different to do during my afternoons besides degenerate gambling and drinking. I always check out the Bellagio Conservatory display every trip so why not visit the art gallery as long as I am in the 'neighborhood".

Spring Break 2000 !!!
Thanks for that review.
We have visited the Bellagio Art Gallery several times, always a good experience.
This exhibit in particular is on my must-do list for my trip . . . . WHICH STARTS IN FOUR DAYS!!!! But I digress. LOL. Good to know. And I agree, it's a great combo with the conservatory.
Fflowers:
I hope you enjoy the exhibit as much as I did. The guided tour starts at 2 pm; if you can swing it timewise, I would recommend you partake in the tour as it will add a lot of information about the artists. Check out Ellen Day Hale's "Self Portrait". It wasn't my favorite painting on display, but I found it the most interesting. Check out the determination in her face, and her hand.

I've always wanted to do a guided tour of one of the exhibits. I'll definitely try and do it this time.
