The wife and I went to see Country Superstars tribute show at the Golden Nugget Last December and loved it!
I personally prefer to listen to 70's rock music but am forced to listen to country music when the wifes in the car and grew up with it, so I know most of the "hit" songs, but dont always know what all of the singers look like. I know what Willie Nelson looks like Reba, Johnny Cash, etc but wouldnt neccessarly know Blake Shelton if he introduced himeself to me.
During the show, they make it well known that all of the cast of the show were actually singing the songs (no lip synking) and the band behind the singers was also actually playing (and they were very good!)
I recognized Reba Macintire who was a dead ringer. She kind of MC'd the show and sang a few songs.
Willie Nelson sang and was very funny and looked "kind of like" the real willie. I really wouldnt know what Tim Mcgraw looked like in real life, so I couldnt tell you if he was a ringer or not but he could sing a good song.(I can tell you what Faith Hill looks like though!!!) and there was other cast members.
There were a couple of other people on the poster advertising the show who were not in the show that night like, Brooks and Dunn & a big red headed women who used to sing with her mother-(sorry, cant remember her name). I am told the show changes from week to week with the intertainers.
We paid $34.95 per ticket "with a buffet" at the Golden Nugget box office, making this a hell of a good deal! You eat at the buffet, then walk right across the entryway to the buffet to the show room. The showroom was about 2/3rds full and was glad I did not pay for a premium ticket (isle "J", seats 7&8 were just fine by me
If you like Country music, I think this is a great show and very good value. I am not country's biggest fan but had a great time!
The crowd around us was really enjoying themselves
Definetly go! Have fun weggie
