I am not sure why, but a couple of years back I put seeing Donnie & Marie Osmond on my bucket list.I guess its because we are roughly in the same age group and I remember watching them off and on throughout my whole life.
I am at an age where the kids are grown, car is paid, etc, giving me a little extra disposable income so when available I like to splurge and do meet and greets.
I bought VIP/meet and greet tickets for Wednesday 10-30-2013 for $306 tax included. $306 gave me a great spot facing foreword in a clamshell type booth, 25 feet from the stage.
I shared the booth with four other strangers. Two pretty ladies from England (on my right) and two guys from Texas on my left. We were all excited to meet Donnie and Marie and all of us hit it off immediately. One of the Texans bought drinks for all. The drinks were huge so one did its trick. I had to drive back to Fremont Street after the show so I did not want to indulge too much.
I don't want to spoil the show so I will no say too much about it.
Donnie tells a story of hurting himself doing the Dancing with the stars, so he does the whole show with a cane (remember this part). He sings all of the songs you remember and mixes with the crowd a lot.
Marie absolutely shocked me with her beauty and range of talent. At one point in the show, the curtains go up and she is standing on a podium dressed and sings opera in Italian (I think it was Italian)....what a voice!
After the show, about 30 of us were taken to another room just outside the showroom and we stood in two lines of 15 people each, Donnie came down one side and Marie came down the other.
Both Donnie and Marie would stop and talk about whatever you wanted for pretty much however long you wanted. I heard Marie talking about nutria system and giving weight lose advice, and Donnie talking about grand kids, etc.
When Marie finally got to me, I scanned her up and down thinking I was going to see make up 2 inches thick making a 50 year old women look 35.....nope! Other than botox around the lips, I saw no other signs of cosmetic surgery or excessive make up. This women was flat out, naturally hot!!! I will try to post a picture of us. I look like a gushing little kid who just met Santa clause!
When Donnie got to me, he took me and the two Texan guys aside, pulled out his "I" phone and showed us pictures of his hip surgery, blood, bones, tendons, the whole gory story. I was shocked that he would show us something that personal....I would show the guys that kind of stuff, I just didn't think Donnie Osmond would!(just one of the guys!)
The pictures that the pro's took were good and came to us in a nice bound book. Each picture cost about $45. I splurged for $180 worth of pictures. Yup, you did the math correctly.....by the time I left, this show, pictures etc, etc cost me about $500!
I met Holley Madison after I saw her in the "peepshow" at planet Hollywood a few years back. When she came out for the meet and greet, she had taken her hair extensions out and was wearing a camo, baggy sweatshirt and baby blue sweat pants. The picture of me and her is in a drawer somewhere in the house. The picture of me and Marie is prominently placed on the living room wall.
All in all, I think the Donnie and Marie show was the best show "I" have seen in Las Vegas and the meet and greet just put it over the top! I highly recommend this show to anyone and if its on your list and can afford it.....do the meet and greet!
