Favorite Spa and Why?

Hello,

My BFF and I would like to spend a day at the spa. Massage, Facial, Mani, Pedi, Steam/Sauna, Gym, Pool, Lunch, etc.

I am a vegas veteran and will have a car, so the spa does not have to be hotel/casino based, just in a safe neighborhood. Coupon or Discounts available are always a plus.

There are so many to choose from and the reviews of course are mixed. Please tell us where your favorite one is and why it is your favorite.

Thanks so much and Have a Great Day
I'm not sure you can automatically get access to a hotel's pool based on your admission to the spa but my favorites, in this order, are:

Qua at Ceasars -- Varied indoor pools/baths (hot, warm and cool), steam room, sauna, and cool/snow room (forgot what it's called but it is a wonderful compliment to the steam and sauna), the size of the place while still "feeling" warm, the variety of teas served in the waiting room/relaxation area, the decor, the fact that I can use my CET reward points there, as a Diamond member fitness center is free and spa I believe is $25 rather than $45 and also with 15% off services. Also, I believe there is more fruit, juices, etc. than at other spas so I've made a mini-breakfast there after working out and before the spa itself. Remember if you purchase a treatment access to most spas is included. I believe Qua also has a co-ed/couples treatment room if you and your other half want to enjoy a treatment at the same time. Some other spas like Canyon Ranch may also have one.

Canyon Ranch at Venetian/Palazzo -- Has a lot of the features above and a larger workout area PLUS there are some neat classes (check the schedule online) that are available for free and that are included in the daily pass. I don't remember there being a snowy/cold room. I rate Canyon Ranch second because though spectacular it somehow felt more cold and less elegant to me than Qua.

Spa at Wynn (Encore's is newer and looks nice from the website) -- Smaller and fewer features but elegant. Encore's looks even nicer.

Those are my top three but I've also visited the spas at Red Rock (small but nice with a steam room and sauna) and Green Valley Ranch (same and I like GVR's a bit better I think). From memory both RR and GVR have small outdoor spa/swimming pools that you can access with your spa admission. RR had a special spa pool with lounge chairs that was very relaxing and I believe -- can't remember for sure -- separated from the other/busier pools.

I've also visited the spas at Paris and PH. Okay. Not great memories but fine. Just not in the same league as the ones above. Same with the Palms, which last time I visited also needed major work. I had the best massage in my almost 48 years there, however, and if the same masseuse is there I'd go back to the Palms to get a massage from him.

I have a thing for the Flamingo spa, which needs major renovation, but it is cheaper, free if you are diamond and I believe the ACG has a coupon for a one-day Flamino spa pass. It is small and has a steam room and sauna. I like that the steam room has a eucalyptus fragrance but the spa is getting worn. It's age though is it's charm. It looks to me a few decades old and I think about the famous entertainers who may have used it in the 70s or 80s (it looks at least that old to me). I also had a great massage there. If are looking to enjoy the spa but want to do it very inexpensively I'd use the Flamingo/ACG coupon and check that spa our for free, especially if you decide not to get a treatment.

Finally, though not a spa, I wanted to add that I may enjoy Qua one day but another enjoy the Flamingo for free and take advantage of the good Groupon offer for a massage at the Tuscany. It's not really a spa but the price for a massage or two with the coupon is great and folks have said good things about the massage. I may even splurge and have them come to my hotel room. Never tried that before and apparently it's not much more expensive to do that if you use the Tuscany folks.
Wow, Flowers thanks for the in depth info. I really appreciate the time you took and the details. Exactly the kind of info we were looking for. Really interested in the "snow" room; going to check out reservation options at Qua now.

Have A Wonderful Sunday
My pleasure Vegasyaya. One clarification I made to my note is when I said "pools" at Qua I was referring not to the outdoor swimming pool but rather the large baths that are inside the spa. They are wonderful and there are relaxing curved stone lounge chairs where you can rest along side the pools. I remember after an all-nighter playing go to Qua, having my mini "breakfast", enjoying the warm/"just right" pool LOL and then sleeping on one of the curved lounge chairs for hours. Awakened feeling like new!

Qua hands down is my favorite over Red Rock, Paris and Bally's. In addition to FFlower's post, they have chaise lounges in the area of the roman tubs. One can nap as long as one likes in that area. It offers a better quality over the others. Bally's also has a nice steam room and is smaller. Yet, Bally's was very cozy. Although the facilities at Paris are dated, I had an excellent treatment.

If I were using the facilities without booking a treatment, I'd rate Qua first followed by Bally's, Red Rock then Paris. Red Rock has the adult only pool area accessible from the spa. Since I was looking for "quiet" I didn't appreciate hearing the music from the main pool. GVR also has a pool accessible from their spa. I don't remember if they have lounge chairs or not.

Spa Mandara at Paris or PHo are owned by the parent company that owns bliss. You can only charge to your room if you are staying at said property. I used the travel zoo promotion for Spa Mandara at Paris and booked some add-ons. I wanted to charge the balance to my room at PHo and try to pay with points at check out. I was told I could only charge to my room if I had been staying at Paris. If I had booked my treatment at Spa Mandara at PHo, I would have been able to charge to my room at PHo.

I've heard you have access to Venetian's pool if you book treatments at Canyon Ranch.
Lisa, thanks for that info! Bally's has been my primary place to stay in Vegas in the past couple of years but I have never visited the Bally's spa and always wanted to give it a try. Will definitely do so during my trip this month.

Good to know also about access to the Venetian pools via a Canyon Ranch entry. I have a $150 five-day pass I purchased for Canyon Ranch TWO YEARS AGO that I never used. When I was there last year I didn't visit the spa but was told that the pass is still good until I use up the five days so I will definitely be using it this time!
Thanks Lisa and Flowers Your reviews are invaluable and exactly what we were looking for. I looked at Qua and am very excited. I will look over the others also. I'm so excited, we may go two or three times during our 11 days

I look forward to reading your reviews. Enjoy your trip.
While not the spa veterans that FF and Lisa are, I must agree that Qua is outstanding, and I'm a guy, so take that FWIW. The Arctic room is a nice perk - I don't recall hearing that anyone else has a similar room.
I'm not a TR member (that I know of) so I have no comps to use at Qua. However, they have run monthly specials in the past (see their website) which may appeal to you. Also, they accept Spafinder certificates. Occasionally you can find those at Costco - pay $80 and receive $100 worth of certificates. Double dip with the monthly special and the Spafinder certs and that's a great deal!
