I was on a break at work when I mentioned that I enjoyed it, but have a little time to elaborate about why I liked it so much.
The show was very refreshing. They did some original material, but mostly did music from better-known groups. (Unfortunately, I don't remember specific tunes). But they did NOT attempt to do them like typical cover bands that you'll see in lounges, playing weddings, etc. They put a very creative and very original spin on those tunes. Sometimes it was even a challenge to recognize the tune until they were well into it.
Most Vegas music events go out of their way to not be creative, but to give people an array of "greatest hits" done the same way the original artists did them. There are a lot of good reasons to do this, but I'm a musician. I really enjoy hearing creative approaches to familiar songs.
The band was terrific and every member of the band got featured a little bit. It has been a year since I saw them so the economics have live music may have forced them to cut the size of the band. I hope not.
I definitely want to catch them again sometime.
