Gordie Brown

Just saw Gordie Brown at the Nugget.
Very Highly Recommended!

We saw him too in September.
We also recommend him. Great show.
The show is worth it at full price and a killer deal with LVA's MRB 241 coupon.

I've seen his show twice and it was very entertaining both times. Since some of it's improv, it's not quite the same each time. I was surprised that so much of it was different.
Yes...Gordie 'can' be pretty entertaining.
My problem with him is he makes fun of a few performers he hasn't done his
homework on. He makes jokes that are just inaccurate, wrong, and in bad taste but...
he's clueless and doesn't know because...he hasn't done his homework on these
performers.
On the other hand...the audience was as clueless as Gordie and laughed along...mindlessly.

Do tell, do tell!! Inquiring minds want to know.
Greg, you're going to have to be more specific.
Which performers and what did he say?
Ya know...I don't remember all of 'em, it was 3 months ago.
Two issues that stick out in my mind were how he made fun of
Green Day's Billy Joe Armstrong's song...'Wake Me Up When September Ends',
a song about the death of Bill's father.
The way he delivered Neil Young as a drug crazed idiot was also way off base.
It's one thing to use celebs quirks in your impersonation Show...that's what makes
'em work, makes us recognize who the person is and 'sometimes' makes 'em funny and entertaining but only in good taste even if you're being sarcastic in good fun.
What he used for Billy and Neil were not. He obviously hadn't done any homework
as to the accuracy of his comments...they were both hurtful.
Saw Gordie Brown at the Nugget too. He is a great entertainer and has a fantastic, solid band.

We did the GN evening Buffet and Show Combo for $34.99,

.... actually it was much better than using the 2/1 Show coupon and the 2/1 Buffet coupon by about $20.

Neil did go through a couple of years of major drug use - I assumed that he was referring to that period which to me made it no different to anything that other comedians or impressionists do.

Neil Young Drug use (Wikipedia - The Last Waltz)

Scorsese has admitted that during this period, he was using cocaine heavily.[13] Drugs were present in large quantities during the concert. Backstage, a room was painted white and decorated with noses from plastic masks while an audio tape of sniffing noises played in the background.[11] A large blob of cocaine hanging from Neil Young's nose was edited out in post-production through rotoscoping.[11][14]
