How much do you tip for a comped cocktail?

Since I've been going to Vegas (11-12 years), my standard tip for a cocktail (either from a waitress or at a bar while playing video poker) has been one dollar. I sometimes tip more ($5 or, if in a group, $10) for the first drink to ensure prompt service; but other than that it's been $1.

I have never gotten any attitude or slow service that I perceived was a reaction to the tip. But it seems like the cost should have gone up by now.

I understand tipping is a personal decision, but I'd like to see whether I am way under average.

So. How much do you tip for drinks? Thanks for all replies.
I'm in the $1 category too. Whether its water, wine, soda I tip $1. If I've just hit something good I may give $5 (that doesn't happen that often, though).

I go to Shreveport, LA every now and then and I tip $1 there too. These cocktail waitresses seem genuinely thankful for that dollar - I think they get stiffed a lot.

We stay downtown, $1 is our standard tip. They seem fine with it, and keep coming back.
$1

I agree on $1. I used to carry Eisenhower Silver Dollars that I would use for tips. When the cocktail waitresses realized that what I had given was not just a slot machine token they would usually comment on it. and definitely remember me. If I was tipping for two drinks I also carried two dollar bills for tips.
Yeah, a buck, whether it's on the Strip or out here in the boond...uh...Henderson.
Usually $1, for a 'run of the house' drink.

Occasionally, I want something special, a double shot or something top shelf.
In that case I hand $2-3 to the CW at the time I give the order. Usually works.

Normally they don't bring a "double" or your call brand you ask for.
They just bring the r-o-h drink and hope you won't notice.

I've had them tell me "the bartender isn't allowed to pour doubles."
That's when my "$2-3 trick" (ha) comes into play, and usually successful.
Especially when repeated several times!

The CWs have to share tips with the bartender . The comp drink is r-o-h, $1 tip.
Sometimes you gotta pony up a little more, if it matters to you.

I've reached the point where I don't drink as much as I used to - and when I do drink I want the good stuff. I don't mess around with well alcohol. The problem is most of the places I frequent only comp well-alcohol. So I usually just get a bottled water. I've been tipping $1 every time for that which seems like a rip. That bottle of water probably costs 10 cents....so I'm paying more than retail price for my "comped drink". But I see it as a way to help stimulate the economy - 1 dollar at a time =)
$2 if I'm ahead, $1 if I'm losing. I do like to support the cocktail servers, it is harder work then most people think it is.
I have commented on here before that folks should be getting their cold water from the CW's and tipping them a buck rather that the (insert your opinion word here) that are on the bridges. Last year they were even selling beer out of coolers on the bridges. BTW I have never had a CW question me when I asked for a call brand.
