I know that smoking pot in public is prohibited and punishable by a fine or misdemeanor jail time. But does anybody have any experience/information that they'd like to share on how strictly Metro enforces this law? In particular, if the smoking is done discreetly and a block or more off the strip? Asking for a friend, of course....:)

Edibles are way too unpredictable.
1/2 of a brownie and you could be baked for 2 hours and unable to function.
The smell is in the air, downtown and the strip. Walking while smoking pot can lead to ignoring the voice at crosswalks. Smoker beware.

Yes, I've heard that. The edibles can make you f-ed up for half a day in some cases. I think those are good for people who use MJ for pain management. If you're just looking for a high the edibles are too much. Stick with the smoked stuff.
I would think if you are somewhat discreet about it I would doubt they would bother you. I think they have bigger problems to worry about.

There was a murmer about smoking lounges. Maybe that died. There really should be.

No,you are not allowed to smoke weed in your hotel room.Some places lock their windows closed!
Even in a smoking room.
I'll bet that security will be called if you fire up inside the Mc Carran smoking lounge.
