Jay writes songs for the movies and for commercials. He ha fronts several bands and performs solo. By his own reckoning he has done over 7000 shows. This show is in an intimate venue - Canyon Club at 4 Queens. Jay has 5 acoustic ovation guitars - all in different tuning - and a stool to sit on. No backing tracks, no sound guy - what you see is what you get. The show is a tour of the best music from 1960 to 1990 - all performed live acoustic. Halfway through the show he invites the audience to choose the songs - I have not seem him stumped yet. He knows them all, has a great voice and is a superb guitarist. Last time I requested Desperado - which he played beautifully . This time everyone was asking for fairly rhythym dominated stuff so I asked for Hotel California - he nailed it. Then someone else requested Pink Floyd Wish |You Were Here - he did a great version. Then someone wanted Poulson Prison - no problem. He is so talented and is not getting any promotion from 4 Queens. I just hope that he stays in Vegas. I highly recommend him - and you van get a free ticket from LVA!

Ya gotta really respect the cats who can pull off a gig like this...
Jay seems to have what it takes and this type of venue is always
a great way to...sit back, have some drinks, enjoy some songs and...
maybe even pay for your ticket rather than use a fee coupon. (They
can't be that expensive) and...if Jay doesn't bring in the bucks via
ticket sales or drinks...he's gone.

My wife and I saw Jay Bolan in September and we thought he was awesome. we will probably do this again next September too.

I saw Jay last September, and he put on a great show -- most of his slections that night came from audience requests--the show was free, the room was only 1/3 full, though. The Canyon Club is a warm, cozy place to have a drink or two and listen to a very talented musician trying to make a go of it. I'm glad he's still there, and don't think anyone who sees him will be disappointed.

Was hoping to see him on our November trip, but now I here (via LVA) he no longer will be performing at the Four Queens. If anybody gets an update as where his new location will be please post.

His website hasn't been updated either (jaybolan.com) He does a lot of commercial/movie stuff and also fronts a couple of bands - not looking good for Four Queens right now though.
