The daily vaccination rates across the country are accelerating, and hopefully but September this virus will largely be behind us. 

Glad to know those dates so I can avoid Vegas then.   Maybe OK in my young and foolish 20s, but those days are loooooong gone.  Thanks.

How safe it is will depend on the percentage of no-maskers and vaccine deniers who attend. I just can't see any of that crowd wearing masks, especially since temps that time of year are still in the 100s. There will definitely be some risk, even at that (hopefully) late stage of the pandemic.

We're going to have more Covid resurgences as Republican states reopen too early and mass gatherings are scheduled as if the virus has magically gone away. The truth is that with a 50-70% vaccination rate (based on various polls re whether people intend to take the vaccine when it's available) and a vaccine efficacy rate ranging from 70% to 95% (and usually the lower figure), we'll still have a lot of virus carriers out there by September.

This is not an event I would ever dream of attending even in normal times, and I can certainly understand everyone's urge to get out there and partaaaaay. But maybe we should all avoid mass gatherings for the rest of the year, until the virus is truly stamped out.

I was unexpectedly there for the one in 2018.    If you want a good nights sleep that week I dont recommend staying at El Cortez like I did ...the festival essentially surrounds that hotel and goes well into the early mornings.  

But if you want a cheap ticket to the concerts you can just book a Pavilion room at El Cortez and watch everything from the balcony.
