Lounge band recommendations

Hi

My wife and I are heading to LV mid May, we're looking for any recommendations on any good lounge bands worth a visit.

We used to enjoy the Fontana Bar and then we liked La Scena....seems that everything we like ends up closing.

Thanks for any advice.

Smokey1.... the bands at the Gold Coast lounge are pretty good. (...Waiting for "Champster" to comment and likely agree). I am surprised by the draw this lounge/ showroom has for people. Every time I have been there, the room which is rather large is usually 70% - 80% occupied with people and the dance floor is always hopping. I recall seeing the band "HNLV" and was impressed with their vocals, variety and showmanship.
I like Yvonne SIlva..she plays frequently at the Mob Bar downtown...but she plays all over town. She's just a solo act and does mash-ups of current songs on her acoustic guitar.
She's usually at the Mob Bar at least once a week.

Rkorbyl...Sorry to report but i never made it to GC. I switched from GC to Southpoint (good move). I did make it to Orleans for a couple of nights and their live bands had people dancing each nite I was there. Old school tunes that really got the crowd rocking.

Ditto for a much smaller venue, the Rampart, which had a 4 piece band on Saturday night , which really surprised me. I actually enjoyed this group!

I am going to check out Dollface on my upcoming trip. They are an all girl band that plays in the Excalibur lounge Thursday to Sunday. Has anyone seen them?
Did you ever see Dollface?
My wife and I went to Las Vegas the week of May 19..and these are the live music acts we saw.

Out in front of Monte Carlo there were live musical acts 2 nights that week.

Great 2 man combo at Palazzo in the Zebra bar starting at 9pm

Fab four (Beatles Tribute Band) very good starts at 6:30 ish at the Mandalay Bay

There is a band at the Tropicana starting at 9:00pm (did not see them)

Live band at Bally's starting at 9:30pm on weekends...did not see.

We also tried to see a live jazz band at the Mandarin on Sunday. However, it was closed because of a private party. (Recon convention)
Check out Sante Fe and the Fat city horns usually playing on Mondays at the Palms. Made up of some of the top working musicians in town. Check out their website and check with the Palms. About a 12 piece band.
I agree with raajaa...... Sante Fe is an awesome band with a huge horn section. I would suggest that the type of music, or as they call it their "healing" music, is not very commercialized. I am not saying that this is bad, but you won't hear the top cover songs as compared to other lounge bands. This is done on purpose as it is the band's way of "sticking it to the man" and not being forced to play the standard cover songs. They play mostly funk-style music with a jazz twist to it. Hence, you may not recognize many of the songs.

The room is usually filled with mostly musicians or real music aficionados. The quality of each musician is awe inspiring. So, if you like great musical talent and are not concerned about recognizing many of the songs, Sante Fe is worth checking out.
Orleans has good stuff 9PM on, they also do something on like Tuesday or Wednesday around 4 that is old school Motown. Riviera has had some good ones in the evening also.
