I had a chance to see two Motown shows while in Las Vegas in early Feb 2017. I was glad to see another choice for shows which specialize in this genre of music.

Hitzville
=======================

I have seen this show a numerous times and always look forward to it. There are a few differences (not good) which I noticed.

While this show is still really well produced, it has changed. Firstly, they have really minimized the available inventory of "general admission tickets. Essentially, the last few rows are the only ones available for the less expensive general admission tickets. So, if you want to get the cheaper tickets, you need to buy in advance. The ticket office is more than happy to sell you VIP tickets which include 2 drinks and a CD. Note, the CD is NOT the Hitzville CD. Rather, it is the personal CD of the Star/Exec producer of the show, Jin Jin Reeves.

The second change is in the band personnel. They have a new guitar player, new bongo player and new male singer. While all of these changes are fine, the biggest disappointment is the new male singer. While the newly added male singer is rather accomplished, they no longer do the "Let's Get It On" song which was a highlight for many. They probably don't do that song due to the change in vocalists.

All in all, the show is still great but the fact that

(a) it costs more to see the show
(b) they lost one of the signature performers who performed Let's get It On

the show has lost some presence and sizzle.

Solid Gold Soul
=====================

This show is held at the "Windows" showroom in Bally's. Its' not a bad show, but in my opinion, it's not has polished as Hitzville. The showroom is rather small and hence there are no real bad seats in this show room.

The band is composed of a drummer, keyboard player and guitar player. The bass and I think some of the backing vocals are tracked.

Again.... not a bad show, but it is not as smooth and well produced as Hitzville.
