I had the chance to see the show at the Venetian called Motown. It is done by 4 white guys and a full band with horn section. It is a very good show and it was well attended. I would say it was about 95% full on a Thursday night. The show was very good and very polished. They played all the top hits and it is easy to see that these guys have put a lot of work into this production. We got our tickets on Goldstar and paid $ 60.00 (incl. all the taxes and fees). In my opinion, there is not a bad seat in the house and I don't think paying the extra money to be in the VIP section is worth it.
In comparison, I have also seen "Hitzville" which is a very similar show. Like their competitor, Hitzville also plays many of the same songs but changes or should I say, impersonates, the likes of the 4 Tops and etc. Hitzville also has a smaller, more streamlined band. The cost of this show through Tix4tonight and other re-sllers can be as low as $35.00 per ticket. Much like "Motown", there are not any real bad seats in the V Theater, but there are definitely some less desirable seats.
Overall, Motown is a much slicker production with a bigger budget shown in a much nicer theater. That being said, I still think that Hitzville provide more bang for the buck.
If you like Motown music, you can't go wrong with any of these shows.
