Saw John Waters (Hairspray, Pink Flamingoes, etc.) do his lecture/ show at the Englert Theatre in Iowa City. It sounds like he often performs in college towns. Anyway, this show was hilarious! Went to dinner at the Motley Cow Restaurant pre-show and who should be seated next to us but John Waters! Anyway this was a delightful evening for $25. They advertise it as a "vaudeville" style performance and it's made up of stories about filming his movies, Divine and others who've worked in Waters films, please a little remembrance of Elizabeth Taylor, David Nelson (remember Ozzie and Harriet?) and other good sports of the indie film movement, and then some of Waters' philosophy of life thrown in. We must have learned some stuff, too, because I had a little list of things to Google when I got home.

Now, for my next entertainment dilemna--how to get my iPod reset to English from Czech. I don't know how I got it set that way, but at this point I think I may have more success learning Czech than trying to get the thing reset!
