Red Skelton:A Tribute

My father is a big fan so we all went to see this 2pm show at the Westin Causina. The room is very small and holds about 100 people. We purchased tix thru Goldstar(had them also at Tix2nite at Bills) for about 20.00 each.Like any tribute show it helps if you know and like the original.I vaguely remember Red and enjoyed the show however my parents grew up with him and LOVED it! It is a 1 man show and he pours his heart into it,you can feel the love and respect he has for the original. He does all the old skits so if you are a fan I would highly recommend. There are plenty of Elvis guys in town but only 1 Red Skelton! Show very clean and great way to spend afternoon.
THANKS 'mannyo', Brian Hoffman's 'REMEMBERING RED' has been on my
list for a while now...I gotta get over there.
I grew up with Red's TV Show and I'm sure I'd be entertained!

Funny story I remember from an interview Mr. Skelton did...talkin' about his early
days in Vegas. He wasn't well known then, played the lounges, did much of his own
advertising.

He told the story of how he'd advertise once in the hotel he was working.
He'd call the front desk and have them 'page' Mr. Red Skelton.
All over the casion...."paging Mr. Red Skelton...call for Mr. Skelton...paging Red Skelton..."
Come showtime, lots of folks were familiar with the name and took in his Show.

Great post!
I did not know of a red skelton tribute show and I would love to see one. No one could mess up his hair and contort his face to tell a joke like Red could!

As Red would say at the end of each show "Good night and...god bless (let see a show say that now!)

I called the Westin, got some info. (It's on East Flamingo just down from Bally's)
I'll be there next week and hope to go over Mon or Tue...have lunch in 'Suede' and
take in the Show at 2pm. The showroom holds just over 175...the gal on the phone
said they'd sold 90 tickets so far for the Monday Show. I didn't book anything...
(dare I say I'll) GAMBLE and hope I get a tic.
*The Westin's website says the showroom seats 175)
I've been in there, but it was YEARS ago and I honestly don't remember.
I also just watched some of his old Klem and Freddie TV routines on YouTube...funny stuff!

I also did not realize there was a Red Skelton tribute show. Will definetely see it next trip. They don't come any better than Red.Good old fashion family comedy.
GREGRIO,just an FYI.They just changed to a larger type of seats the week we seen it and I think the capacity is closer to 100-120 by my count.Hope you enjoy it and glad I could finally pay you back a little for all your help over the years!
KSHP has a 3-day sale that started today (Wed). A pair of tix for $11 (MSRP $70) that are valid for 90 days.

THANKS 'mannyo'!... On behalf of my butt, dropping the head count
to raise my level of COMFY, is ALWAYS A GOOD THING!
Tickets for Red Skelton are regularly on www.stores.ebay.com/Vegas4Locals
You can generally pick up a pair of tickets for under $5. Once the auction is over, the guy gets the ticket voucher to you very quickly. I've purchased from him several times already and have never had a problem. Great deals if you have some time before you need the tickets.

I know Groupon had tickets last year and I think ACG has 2-1 coupon, but earlier deals noted are much better. Please post reviews.
