BRIAN HOFFMAN's Show in the small, cozy Westin showroom is a great way
to spend a couple hours in the afternoon.
The Westin is on Flamingo, just down from Bally's...'Bill's side of the street.
I went over early to have lunch in 'Suade' restaurant prior to showtime...and
was pleasantly surprised to find out by showing your Show ticket, you get
20% off the cost of your meal!
I had a great house salad along with a very good chicken fettuchini...$25. total using
the discount from my $39.95 VIP ticket.
The VIP tic sits you up front. The Gen'l Admission tic is cheaper and
seating/view is great all over so not to worry about which one you choose.
I also did not buy in advance.
The showroom isn't very large...around 100 seats and Brian said his average crowd
is around 40-50 guests per Show however...some days are busier than other depending
on special events, convention guests etc.
It's very warm and pleasant inside, newly remodeled with large comfy living room
type chairs all round.
'Remembering Red' runs a little over an hour and what Brian presents, is Red's one
man Show he did for HBO...no swearing, all in good taste...lots of corny puns, jokes,
and his loveable characters.
You'll see the two seagulls Gertrude and Heathcliffe, Clem Kadiddlehopper, and
Freddy the Freeloader...
Brian is a big fan of Mr. Skelton. He does a great job of delivering all of Red's little
manorisums, his expressions, mussing up his hair for characters, the hats, his voice...
If you were a fan of Red Skelton's television Show, 'Remembering Red' brings
back some of the memories of one of the best early pioneers of television.
I sat a bit to the side/front row and in his tuxedo along with the lighting...it was
very easy to believe you WERE watching Red Skelton...a very pleasant/entertaining after noon.
