Rod is the best bang for the buck singer out there.
I never tire of seeing him - With my old buddy Long John Baldry - yep - Rod was a Hoochie Coochie Man, with the Faces, in his solo career. He was also a singer - VERY briefly with the Kinks and in Rod Stuart and the Moonrakers. We were both in CND in the early sixties (He got arrested - I didn't )
On his last tour - where he was playing 25,000 set arenas, his last stop was our 5000 seat arena. The local paper said that he was being pressured for higher ticket prices for our small arena and he refused.
When he walked on stage, after his opening song, he commented on that and said that he would not make a fan pay more becaue the venue was smaller. He then said that this was the last night of the tour - and it was going to be the longest. And it was - by 45 minutes. He is the consumate showman, a great performer who displays a real affection for his fans - and for my money he delivers a very big bang for the buck. I highly, highly recommend that you see this show.
