SINATRA: The Man The Music at Palazzo/Venetian

Just an update folks...... March 16th....

Some friends of mine are going to see this show in May and I wanted to help them with the Palazzo offer. I couldn't find anything on the entertainment webpage that FFlowers was talking about....so I called the box office. Yes, they are still offering 2/$99 tix up to the $93 level ticket. But now you have to call the box office directly. 702 414 9000

Both the box office person and I looked for the 2/1 offer online and couldn't find it....If we're just dummies and it's still there somewhere, please post an update.....thanks ya'll.

I saw the show when I was there about 3 weeks ago and really enjoyed it. As a musician, I appreciate the fact that it has a full studio orchestra, with 12 strings and a percussionist in addition to a full big band. In Vegas these days, to keep that many musicians employed is rare. I realize that economically, having sequenced/synthesized musicians makes sense, but there is no substitute for live music. OK, I'm biased, but that is what it is...

The only thing I thought was odd about the show was that a couple of times during the show, he started talking and telling stories as though he was Sinatra. I mean, he talked about how one time, he and Nelson Riddle were recording in the studio and the suits from the record label came down and told him how his music wasn't cutting it anymore. So that's why he started Capitol Records. Really??? I'm sure the guy knows he's now really Frank. Well, I guess he knows he's not really Frank.

But that's really all I can fault. The orchestra is tremendous and Anderson does an excellent job bringing back a bygone era, not only of Vegas, but of music in general. The show was 90 minutes. In 90 minutes, you can't even begin to do all of Sinatra's greatest tunes, but they did most of the biggies.

I was able to get tickets at the Tix4Tonight outlets and the house was maybe 2/3 full (although it was mid-week in March, so hopefully they'll have full houses once the season gets going).

If you like Sinatra, then by all means, check out the show.
Just saw the show last week and we all loved it. It takes him 2 hours to have his make-up done. I assumed he probably just had some plastic surgery to make him look more like Sinatra, but at the end of the show, they show a picture of him as he really is - not much of a resemblance.

The orchestra is just phenomenal - they said more than half the orchestra actually performed with Sinatra at one time or another. You'll notice plenty of older performers in the orchestra.

We got our tickets at Tix4Tonite also. We paid $48.25 each (all in) for the $71.50 cheap seats (Sec 2 Row UB). The theater was not full so they moved us up to Row U ($93.50) seats. The theater is fairly small so there are no bad seats and they only sell seats for Sections 1,2&3. Tix4Tonite had seats available in 3 different price categories. We bought ours 90 minutes before a Wednesday night show. Great show!

just one last thought about this show....it's set to close by the end of November, even though the 100th anniversary of Sinatra's birth is Dec 12th. So...go see it soon!!

My daughter and I were planning on seeing the show during our December trip; but then I saw the news that the show was closing the end of November..nuts. Oh well, since I booked a last minute trip for next week........... reserved a seat for myself next Wednesday. I bought a ticket in the center section, 2nd row for $97....I would have paid $176 to sit one row in front of me. I thought about dining at Sinatra at the Encore before the show....make it a real "old blue eyes" kind of an evening.
I'm there next month for the half marathon. If it's still running and I can get discount tickets, I'll probably go see it again. I really enjoyed the show.
I saw the show 3 October and enjoyed it immensely. You can get cheap seats for ~$50 at Tix4Tonight the day of the show.
I saw the show last week and it was great. The make up artist must be a genius because Bob Anderson's appearance really resembles "Old Blue Eyes". He sings all the old Sinatra favorites, while staying in character when talking to the audience. The 32 piece orchestra that backs him up really added to the performance; it's rare to see and hear a live orchestra perform in Vegas anymore...everything is "canned" music nowadays. Many of the musicians played in the Nelson Riddle orchestra back in Frank's heyday. Sadly, the show is closing the end of next month so this is a must see show if you enjoy live entertainment and not that lip synced "phone it in" crap....you listening Brittany? Luck be a Lady and Fly me to the Moon, Frank....go see this show.
Saw this show back in July for about $40 thru Tix4Tonight. Well worth the money. Nowhere near as well attended as it deserves. Wouldn't call it GREAT because well, he simply didn't sing many of my favorites. Sinatra had such an awesome songbook that was probably inevitable.

The ticket envelope they give you includes offers for Human Nature (also closing shortly) and 2-for-1 drinks
